I'm not really much of a rock/indie person, but I had heard the chili's Under the bridge before and I'd also heard scar tissue, so I though I'd but the album to see what it was like, and although under the bridge isn't on it, I was very impressed! This was the first Chili Peppers album that I bought after having listened to half a dozen tracks from it during a school skiing trip on a cassette player (which gives an idea of how long I've had this thing). The album 'Californication' can be argued to be the most successful album of the chilis repertoire, indeed many people think this is only the second or third album by the band, not knowing the band much earlier, more funky sounding albums. ...

My favorite album of all time. It beats Nirvana, AC DC or anything else like it. There are two reasons this is my favorite album of all time: 1) The songs are excellent beyond belief. 2) There is not a single song on the album (there's 15 of them) that I don't like! With tracks ranging from rock to funk to heartfelt melodies this album has something for everyone. 'Scar Tissue' is a very moving and beautiful song whilst 'get on top' is a lot more ...

In their new album "Californication" you can tell by the style of the songs that the group is becoming more mature and talented. I personally enjoy and like the song "Scar Tissue" as it reminds me of my holiday last Summer. The cover of the CD is very colourful adn attractive. To be honest, I bought this album for one track - Otherside- thinking that the rest of the album would be somewhere between crap and ok. But I was so wrong! The whole album is excellent! My favourite track is of course Otherside, but the rest of the album is just as good, especially Californiacation. Yes, there are some naught lyrics in amongst the track listing, but if you listen to the lyrics properly you'll see that they are there for a reason ...

I love the Red Hot Chilli Peppers, and this album ROCKS. It is full of brilliant tracks, and unlike nearly all other albums there is no fillers or wastes of time at all. The album is mainly composed of great rocking tunes, guitars, drums and great vocals. There is the odd slower track, bu this just adds to the greatness of the album. Californication is yet another marvellous creation by the Red Hot Chilli Peppers, containing all the expected elements of one of their albums. There is variety throughout, with rock, indie, a bit of funk, and some slow, simple ballads. This in itself should make you want to listen, as there is guaranteed to be at least one song you'll like. The album itself is quite lengthy, with 15 songs, each, in my opinion, standing out from the rest in their ...
...the quieter songs, 'Scar Tissue', which was a hugely successful single, and 'Roadtrippin', the latest and probably last single release from the album. Other songs which stand out for me are 'Porcelain', with, once again, it's soft and melodic qualities, and 'Californication', with it's mild rock beats. This is very quiet as RHCP albums go, but as they further their career, I'm sure they're allowed to calm down. All I can say is, buy it! ...
