This was the first Chili Peppers album that I bought after having listened to half a dozen tracks from it during a school skiing trip on a cassette player (which gives an idea of how long I've had this thing). The album 'Californication' can be argued to be the most successful album of the chilis repertoire, indeed many people think this is only the second or third album by the band, not knowing the band much earlier, more funky sounding albums. Advantages: catchy tunes and original songs.
Disadvantages: a couple of not so good tracks

red hot chilli pepper's latest album has been immensely popular. the latest single released from it, the title track 'californication', has done well in the charts too, and probably the most famous single from the album, 'scar tissue' is very well known. the album is a good mix of soft and loud, angry and sensitive and melodic and rocky. the lead singer anthony keidis has a wide vocal range and a distibctive voice, and along with the other band member's ... Advantages: Not a single bad track on the album. Almost all tracks are excellent!

My favorite album of all time. It beats Nirvana, AC DC or anything else like it. There are two reasons this is my favorite album of all time: 1) The songs are excellent beyond belief. 2) There is not a single song on the album (there's 15 of them) that I don't like! Disadvantages: not as up tempo as some of their other stuff

A well-versed fan of Red Hot Chilli Peppers might disagree but I think this is by far the best album that the band have produced (even better than their greatest hits). It has the perfect mix between laid back serious songs and faster paced jump-around songs. A special mention has to go to 'Scar Tissue' and 'Otherside' which will forever remind me of the years of teenage angst I spent listening to them. Those who like their music a bit more lively ... Disadvantages: Lacks a real hit like Under The Bridge

That the Chili Peppers still exist is nothing less than a miracle. I received this CD as a christmas gift and since than there has not beem one day I have not listened to the amazing tracks on this album.All songs differ from one another and the mix of excellent guitar beats and meaningful lyrics fill your head with the message the Red Hot Chili Peppers are one of the best bands of contemporary times.Anthony Kiedis' unique singing style and ability make this a hit album whcih will be apprecaited by evryone.Every ... In their new album "Californication" you can tell by the style of the songs that the group is becoming more mature and talented. I personally enjoy and like the song "Scar Tissue" as it reminds me of my holiday last Summer. The cover of the CD is very colourful adn attractive. Disadvantages: Unhappy neighbours

To be honest, I bought this album for one track - Otherside- thinking that the rest of the album would be somewhere between crap and ok. But I was so wrong! The whole album is excellent! My favourite track is of course Otherside, but the rest of the album is just as good, especially Californiacation. Yes, there are some naught lyrics in amongst the track listing, but if you listen to the lyrics properly you'll see that they are there for a reason ... Read review

This album has been a long time in coming, and I'd have to say that after the classic Blood, Sugar, Sex, Magik this has to be the best Chilli Peppers album ever. They give you your moneys worth with a total of 15 tracks, not a weak link in site. Truely awesome album by what is probably one of the worlds best known and favourite bands, this is them at there peak and if you aren't already a fan of the chilli peppers you definatly will be after listening to this.
