College Dropout, The [PA] - Kanye West

When I bought this album I had only ever seen Kanye West's video for 'All Falls Down' on the music channels. I bought this album based on that one track. I had never heard anything else from Rocafella but I am highly impressed By West's first album. The songs are not all the same style. Some of them seem quite fun and joking such as The New Workout Plan, where as others like Jesus Walks and Never Let Me Down seem as though they are written with conviction ...
...their production. The lyrics range from being fun and playful, to the more serious meaningful type, and the beats are original. West seems to be a highly talented young man and I look forward to hearing more from him in the future. I hope his future work is as good as this. I highly reccomend this artist to anyone who likes HipHop, R&B or Rap. Hes dones an excellent job. ...

Excellent album - I bought this on the basis of hearing one song 'Thru the Wire' which is a excellent song with great lyrics and powerful meaning. Brings a tear to my eye to know what he went through.. He had his Jaw Wired shut (hense the title Thru the Wire) there is even a snipet of him speaking with his jaw wired shut in it.. This album has all the lyrics inside the booklet too - I impress people by rattling off the lyrics I learnt.. call me ...
...and love each one of them! I hate nothing more than buying an album and only liking the one song you heard playing on the radio or whatever.. this album will make you tap your feet and even laugh in places. Kanye West is a rap genius.. his lyrics are funny, some serious and some religious 'Jesus Walks' (don't let that put you off however if you are not religious because you will be guaranteed to end up singing it after you hear it a few times) ...

Kanye West received 4 out of a possible 5 mics rating from the source magazine. I do not dissagree as his ability as a producer is amazing but as a rapper his lyrics need work. He has a couple of very smart punchlines and lyrics but as a whole im not very impressed by the rest of the things said on his album.
