Advantages: different styles Disadvantages: Overpowered by funk
Combat rock is the clash's final album, featuring Mick Jones. This is the sort of album that you have to listen to a few times to get into, well I did anyway. After the widely slated Sandinista, The Clash went back to the drawing board and produced their best selling album, although not their best. The clash had changed. This was a ground breaking album with decieving title and inconsistant songs.
Punk had gone and this wasnt necessarily a rock n roll album. They still produced simple straight to the point songs like Know Your Rights which sounds like only 1 chord was played, but also amazed with the funky Rock The Casbah and the best song on the album a sort of rock reggea mix, Ghetto Defendant.
