I guess Shania Twain must be one of the most enduring artiste these days. With her stunning looks and smooth voice, no wonder she is one of the most popular singer around the globe. After listening to several songs on her "Come on over" CD, I very much loved to hear the pieces over and over again, esp. the "You're the Only", "That Don't Impress Me Much" and "Man I Feel Like A Woman" songs. Before I bought Shania's album, Come On Over, I didn't country music whatsoever. I'm still not a fan of all country music, but she got me a lot more open minded about it. The entire album is full of fantastically sung, either foot tappin' upbeat songs, or slow, emotion filled slower tracks. I would have wrote an op on the amazing album a lot earlier but I've been to busy listening to it. It has beautiful mellow songs to beautiful country rock. This is an entirely brilliant album. It's good to see someone making something positive out of country music! And I would kill to look like her. She has been blessed with every talent needed by a singer today It's great how she can turn what I thought was an album filler ("Don't Be Stupid") into a top tune. The best song on the album....well it has to be a cat fight between "That Don't Impress Me Much" (which was one of my favourite songs of 1999) ... Read review

I must say I don't really fancy country that much, I mean I didn't even know country before last summer. I spent last summer a week in a cruise ship where I got a change to get some line dancing hours. I met this nice girl there, we're now friends and she thought Shania's the best so as I came home I bought this album and well fell in love with it instantly. ...as the ordinary pop fans. Come On Over was my surprise favourite, being as it is not a single. It is a pop-country mix again but is undeniably catchy in keeping with her album as a whole. ...A Way. It's absolutely beautiful. Come On Over, the title track, is a fantastic song whilst Rock This Country! concludes the album fabulously. Honey I'm Home, the most typically country song is amazing too. This is one of the best albums ever released, and is definitely the best country album. Whether you're are a die hard country fan, a rocker or just liked the singles doesn't make any difference you will be disappointed by this album which in trying to cover so many styles seems to have failed to do any of them justice. The final track "Rock this Country" probably best highlights what the intention was by linking proper rock to a hard country swing however in most cases the preferred styles are boring AOR and limp rhinestone country ...
