Advantages: original and heavy Disadvantages: repitive and gets boring quite fast
If I said Bring Me The Horizon have had a good year it would probably qualify as understatement of the century. After playing the world famous Download fesitval mainstage they went on to win best british new comers of 2006 at Kerrang! awards.
However fans of their EP 'This Is What The Edge Of You Seat Was Made For' may be disapointted, as the bands sound has matured quite alot, taking a more death metal/ thrash direction rather then the original ... ...the rest of the album perfectly, warning listeners with weak hearts to get off the ride. For the most part it is conisistantly good, non-stop, thrash. Oli's vocals ranging from high pitch screams to guttural death grunts. The penultimate track '15 fathoms and counting' is an acoustic instrumental that definatly shows a softer second side to the band and give a contrast to what has gone before, lulling the listener into a false sense of security before ...

Advantages: Great top quality riffs with immense backing and vocals Disadvantages: you have to have a specific taste to appreciate this type of music
Count your blessing explores originality in the terms of hardcore music. The CD is 10 tracks long and mixes brutal screaming with fast guitar riffs. The showmanship of the lead singer "Oliver Sykes" makes the band stand out from any other, just the effort that becomes apparent every time i listen to there music is immense. Personally i could listen to this CD over and over again and i would generally advise it to anybody who likes hardcore music ... ...breakdowns written to get you in the mood to mosh. i rate this CD 9.5 out of 10.
