Crack the Skye is revolutionary

Advantages: new and original. a very diverse style of music
Disadvantages: might be to complex for some people

I have never been a massive mastodon fan but this has left me completely speechless. Each song has is own amazing moment. These are the type of songs that forget about song sructures and just follow what sounds right. The boys at mastodon have now confirmed themselves as one of the best metal bands of the modern day.
