...I first saw Cristie in the 2002 Operacion Triunfo in Spain, and ever since, I have been her fan. If you don't know anything about Operacion Triunfo, see my review of it!

In 2002, the 24 year old Cristie Velasquez (related to the artist) entered the Málaga stage of Operacion Triunfo. She went in to meet the judges, and she gave a heart felt performance of 'When You Believe' by Mariah and Whitney. Indeed, from ... ...Ainhoa (winner at the end). Cristie looked amazing during this performance and she sung really well. She got to carry on to the next week, while Ainhoa was up for eviction against Mai Meneses.
GALA 2 : She sang Devuélveme La Vida (Return To Me Life) by Alejandro Sanz with Miguel Nández. This was her chance to sing a Love Ballard, which was her speciality. She pulled it off well, and she got through.
