Crossing - Big Country

Back in 1982, a new band emerged with a unique sound which saw their debut album 'The Crossing' become a big success and is now considered a 'classic album'. The band was Big Country. Founded by guitarist and songwriter Stuart Adamson, formerly of The Skids. I had been waiting for this album release with great anticipation. I remember back in the 80's I was working with a chap who played guitar, he was literally music mad, he had a vast record collection and many an occasion I went to his house and we drank home brew beer, listened to his music collection. On one such occasion he pulled this LP out 'The Crossing' and asked me if I'd heard anything by them, I said I hadn't and I remember him saying ' Trust me, if you don't have this album, then you really don't have a record collection to speak of'.
