Trivium is presently one of the most well known bands out there. They are christened the "revival of thrash/heavy metal" by a lot of their fans. The press swoons around them, giving them more hype and praise then anything else recently. Do they live up to the hype? Well, not really. Ascendency was a good album, showing that Trivium had a lot of talent and can play their instruments, as well as construct emotional solos. But it was heavily flawed. ...

Advantages: couple of promising riffs and songs Disadvantages: no song really stands out; two very bad songs
i agree with others that are disappointed with this album and agree that trivium have tried to become the new 21st century metallica. with this album came alot of expectation, especially on the back of their last album \'ascendancy\'. however for me this album is sheer disappointment. matt has ditched the screaming in turn for all out singing which at times just does not suit the music he is playing. however like others i knew this was coming as i ...

...you can be listening to Crusade, then switch back to Ember or Ascendancy and it's a totally different sound. Unlike most other bands where putting on an older album just sounds the same, but older.

Advantages: Rocking / great if you like music with a guitar or 2! Disadvantages: Bit heavy / will not suit everyone!
I was fortunate enough to see Iron maiden on their world tour last year, on their final day at Earls Court. Having been a Maiden fan all my life this was the best I had ever seen a live band at, and when I heard that Trivium were supporting I had mixed reactions too it at first. So I brought the album to familiarize myself with some of their songs, and I was pleasantly surprised with the quality of musicianship and rigor displayed on the album.

Advantages: good Disadvantages: not as good as the first 2
this album is a good one but personally it is not as good as the first two as the first two are more metal and hardcore but this one is a little more toned done which agen personally i think they are better at their more metal style then this new toned down version of trivium
this album is still good dont get me wrong once agen personally crusade is an aweome song and i think mtv agree with me as they alwas played it when it was first released. ...

Advantages: Great Solos, Some good Songs Disadvantages: Trying to be Metallica
Well this album was hyped up way too much. The thing that got trivium famous was matt Heafy's Screaming and then catchy lyrics (i.e Like light to flies) on this album it seems to have gone and he is trying to be James Hetfield and trivium have turned into a Metallica Tribute Band. You could tell this was coming because when they were first on tour in the Uk Matt Heaffy Screamed like on the Cd but then slowly but surely it went to trying to be like ...

Advantages: None. Disadvantages: boring songs, all sound the same
I found this album very dissapointing myself. I bought it a while ago when it came out and a friend of my was telling me that is was great and i should buy it, and to be honest i thought it was awful compared to their older music. I found the songs boring, and most of them sounded the same as each other. There is only about one or two songs on the whole album that i actually like and i miss all the screaming like in their old songs, because in this ...
