Advantages: Raw energetic brit pop at its best and most fresh. Disadvantages: You might still feel a sense of disloyality if you were a blur fan.
From the impatient and exciting first few chords of "Rock n Roll Star" to the almost irreverant "Married with Children" this is a real rollercoaster (or dare i say helter skelter) ride of an album. It seems to scream of belief that they knew that this would define a generation, and define it, it certainly did.
Easily the best Oasis album to have been released to date and understanably so as this was the produce of years of writing by main song-writer ... ...the not-so respectable areas of Manchester. Personally this album changed my entire outlook on music, in an era just after the death of grunge where one hit wonders and monotonous dance tracks topped the charts this album was released and blew everything else away!!
It is so hard for me to pick my favourite tracks on this album as they all conjour up such emotions in me it's hard to explain.
One song however, does shine through... "Live Forever" ...

...available on the CD, this song was a track by the name of 'Sad Song' and is one of Noel Gallagher's finest vocal performances.
If you like Oasis, or even if you are unfamiliar with their music, this is one you should definitely consider owning if you dont already! ...

Advantages: Everything that the music industry needed. Disadvantages: none
This is it...forget everyone else,this is the album that made everyone stand up and take notice of actual songs again.. from the start this album grabs your attention and doesnt let go...a true classic!! The lyrics speak to a generation and united a country into loving great music again that was truely 'british' this was Oasis' time!! Although they went on to have more success with 'morning glory' this was the album that set the precident for them ... ...nation waiting for their releases, this was the album that made them the party band that the country wanted. I dont think a band has been as culturally viable as oasis since the beatles and in my opinion i dont think there will be another band that get to these heights as a band ever again. As i said before, this album is a true classic! ...
