Advantages: More of an album, less of a concept than Homework Disadvantages: Short Circuit makes me want to cut my ears off
My tastes in music, as some of you may already know, are quite diverse. Not many people are able to like Basement Jaxx and the Deftones at the same time, yet I do. In some ways this is good, but in other ways not. You see, I don't think that I'm discriminative enough. I can buy practically any album and grow to enjoy it (so long as it's not Westlife - I would rather burn in hell than listen to one of their albums (not that I believe in hell), and ...

Advantages: Great tracks, amazing lyrics, easy listening Disadvantages: Familar sounding
I felt a bit weird when my brother bought this album and didn't really think it was a good buy. This is one of my favourite CDs of the year, and all together! If you like Dance tracks and easy listening music this is the one for you. The best track on this album I think is Digital Love which didn't do very well in the charts! On this CD there are a lot of instrumental tracks which are really good with a great beat in the background. Sadly I haven't ...

My best album of all time! I love Daft Punk’s Homework too, but this one is definitely my favourite. Many don’t know who Daft Punk are: the guys are called Thomas Bangaltar and Guy-Manuel de Homem-Christo.
This much-awaited album came out 5 years after Homework and has a variety perfect for dance fans.
The best way to review this album is to go through some of the tracks on it. I’m going to start with my favourites:
Harder, ...

Advantages: Fantastic songs - music doesn't get much better Disadvantages: Should be more recognised
Okay, okay. I admit it. I was a trashy pop and euro pap fan a couple of years ago but wasn't everyone? Come on you cant not admit that you dont know the words to Britney or haven't tap a toe to Eiffel 65 - or 64, I get confused. I did - ashamadly. Although two years isn't much my music taste has drastically changed. This is all thanks to Daft Punk.
It was 1997 when two eccentric Parisian DJ's, by the name of Thomas Bangalter and Guy Manuel de ...

...and fresh electronic dance music. Discovery was meant to be the best dance album in some time, many don’t agree, I have to ask why? I whole-heartedly agree with the critics.
The album starts with “One More Time” which reached the UK top 5. This track is much more suited to a UK audience and is not as dance like as the rest of the album. The second track, Aerodynamic is much better and has no singing; it really warms you up for ...

Advantages: An astonishingly diverse album, expanding their genre in fascinating new ways. Disadvantages: Releasing "One More Time" as the first single has made their audience a little cynical.
In 1997 Daft Punk (Frenchmen Thomas Bangalter and Guy-Manuel de Homem-Christo) released their debut album “Homework”, which has since been recognised as one of the finest dance music albums ever written. It ranks alongside Leftfield’s “Leftism” (1995) and Massive Attack’s “Blue Lines” (1991) as one of the very greatest albums focused on electronic sounds. As the two artists above have shown, writing ...

Bizarre electronic act Daft Punk splash back in to the charts with their new album Discovery, and I bought it! It really is quite a good album if you are in to electronic music. This is one of the only CD's I have bought this year, and I got it today (30/6). I get out of debt, and go and blow some cash on this album. Fortunately, my spending habits (eg. "blow"-ing money away) doesn't equate with this album as it does everything but blow. This album ...

...trying to make was that Discovery can be perceived in slightly different contexts: 1) a Discovery for me was this terrific album (yes I am getting to my op); 2) These guys discovered that they can do a great album without relying on the success of their last effort.
Right.
What is Discovery. From the opening track 'One More Time' we are thrust into an electronic experience that can not but help you feel happy. It is impossible to walk away ...

At last it's here! The long awaited second album from the French phunksters Thomas Bangalta and Christo, AKA 'Daft Punk'. It has been over a year since they last released material under this guise. Most of their time has been well spent in the studio working on this and on solo projects, but the wait has most certainly been worth it.
Discovery starts off with their current chart anthem 'One More Time', a full on discotastic, hip shaking monster ...

Discovery, the new long awaited album from Daft punk. In the beginning Daft punk where a group of two frenchmen with a funked up attitude but as times progressed and styles changed this album was created. It all began with the release of there new single One more time which could only be described by fans as different but soon there fans attitudes changedwhen they relised they were become a dance couple. Mindblowing Fun Review ofDiscovery - Daft Punkby
Barney_Tabasco
Advantages: Great tunes, humour (though not novelty) and a wonderful 80's vibe Disadvantages: Final track 'Too Long' is as it says on the tin. Compared to first album, maybe they've sold-out a little bit.
Lets be honest - did anyone play the first album that much? Did anyone continually listen to it all the way through? I certainly didn't.
'Homework', Daft Punks first album was a great mish-mash of quite groundbreaking French house which included a couple of the best tunes of the last few years, 'Da Funk' and 'Around the World'. But ultimately the album disppointed by being too patchy and throwing in too many repetitive beats (repetitive as in boring, ...

Advantages: Applies to everyones taste. Disadvantages: None
Daft Punk are a duet of two French robitically-masked musicians, their identities well hidden allowing them to bask in the glory of their Dance fame yet lead a normaly life outside music (if there is such a thing). But what they refuse to hide is their brilliance and this album optimizes their talent, it being filled with songs that take about a second to fall in a dope-like trance to.
The first song of this album, entitled "One more time" is exactly ...

Advantages: Exellent first four tracks which are uplifting and moving Disadvantages: The rest of the album
So, finally, the second coming of Daft Punk's unique blend of techno, dance and some may say poppy style of music.
I have to admit I am a relative newcomer to Daft Punk having only listened to the exellent debut 'Homework' just a few months ago. Having heard this I was eager for more and when the singles 'One more time' and 'Aerodynamic' were released I thought we were in for a rare treat with 'Discovery'.
Unfortunately, not all went according to ...
