Advantages: this rocks Disadvantages: It's not a double album
Hey for some punk rockers 20 years after the fact these kids ROCK. I just set up their concert in Orlando, Florida and this is one of the only real rock bands on the road today. And this is the only album of theirs I own. "When I Come Around " and "Longview" really give you the feel of what it's like to be a speed-freak musician in the East Bay. These are great rock songs from a great band, right up there with the Who ! Buy this album, or steal it ... ...you dig rock n roll, you will dig this ! The concert was great, they even did a fifties medley, and their new album is right up there with this one. But this is where Green Day really starts and this is where you should too. Keep on keepin on, these guys sure are. ...

...(Lyrics), Mike and Tre Cool. Dookie is their third album to be released, which managed to reach number two in the UK album charts, which was no surprise. It is a contreversial album, but it is absolutely great. This album managed to ensure that green day became a trademark band of the ninteties. This is a great album and I would recommend it to anyone. Track Listing: Burnout, Having A Blast, Chump, Longview, Welcome to Paradise, Pulling Teeth, Basket ...

Advantages: JUST GREAT MUSIC Disadvantages: DON'T THINK THERE ARE ANY
Being an obsessive Green Day fan, I could probably write for days on how good this album is. The best tracks on the album are "Long View", "Welcome to Paradise", "When I Come Around" and, of course "Basket Case". However, all of the songs on "Dookie" are memorable and full of life. In my opinion this is Green Day's second best album after the amazing "Nimrod".
Also those of you who like karaoke will be pleased with "Dookie" for the simple fact that ...

Fantastic Albumn. Songs that I particularly remember from this albumn are: She, When I Come around, Basket Case, Pulling Teeth and Burnout.
Hear Greenday roaring out some of thir best lyrcs and songs a must buy for all you greenday fans.
For those of you who haven't heard much of Greenday I would say this albumn is the best place to start. If you've already got American Idiot you best go back and buy the albums so missed such as Dookie.

Advantages: Not a bad track on this Disadvantages: None
Still my fave green day album even although their newer stuff is amazing also. So much energy in this record, every song is catchy, power punk. Mike Dirnt's bass lines are what make these songs so catchy and as a bass player I love this album, for playing along with. I bought this when it first came out but it still sounds fresh today, just as good as any of the newer/younger punk bands around.
There are no ballad-y type songs on this album, the ...

Advantages: Great lyrics, bass rhythms and drumming. Good vocals too. Disadvantages: A little short.
...I have to say that Dookie has to be the best album they have ever released, their newer ones such Warning is not a patch on it. Every song is different, yet still brilliant, the bass, guitar and drums working together so well in every song. My favourites are 'Welcome to paradise' and 'Burning Out', both classics. I have seen it available at HMV for £9.99, but cheaper at Woolworths for only £7.99. Nobody should be without it. ...

Dookie is an absolute necessity for any nouveau Green Day bandwaggoner. Find out where it all began, and experience Green Day as they were when they were still young and didn't wear makeup and skinny jeans. Dookie's songs speak to a generation of kids experiencing angst, as well as adults who remember how it was. Songs like She are quite possibly the most eloquent of the whole pop/punk genre. Original Green Day really can't compare to today's geriatric ...

Advantages: Pop punk at its very very best. Disadvantages: Maybe a few too many songs.
...to fame with Americam Idiot, Dookie still remains, in my opinion, their finest work. The album kicks off as it means to go on with the fast paced punk rock of Burnout. The lyrics also set the tone for the rest of the album, talking about apathy, bordom and as the title suggests, burnout. Having a Blast and Chump continue the mood of bored and angry youth with Chump segueing into one of the highpoints of the album, the instumental of Longview. Here ...

this is NOT the debut album of greenday but it is the one that made the band a big hit giving them chart success and a very large number of fans around the world. If you don't remember the first song you've heard from the band, allow me to remind you of "Basket case". Now you should remember of what was going on in the year 1994. The truth is that in this album you will also find a song called "welcome to paradise" which was recorded back in 1991 ... ...of my favorites you will find here is a song that means the world to me, "when i come around". "when i come around" together with "basket case" should give you enough reason to buy this album, but i can assure you, you will also find other interesting tracks here.
The complete track list is:
burnout
having a blast
chump
longview
welcome to paradise
pulling teeth
basket case
she

Advantages: longview, pushing teeth, the whole album Disadvantages: nothing
ok i have to say i absolutely love this album i first brought it back in 1994 when i was 10 on tape and have had to replace it several times on cd due to over listening it. This album was a great way to introduce your band to the world, its catchy tunes that had lyrics relevant to its young listeners, which are still relevant today. Billie joe armstrong has it all great looks great voice great writing ability and he plays the guitar fantasticaly ... ...for success. song to listen to is pushing teeth a 60s influenced track that is catchy and will have you singing along for days. If you have only got into green day since american idiot i suggest you buy some of their early stuff. listen out for the hidden track at the end of the album, it will have you in stitches. ...

This album was released in 1995 but it still lives on to be a great album. Great tracks such as When I come around, Welcome to paradise and Longview give this album a great rating for listening.
With Billy Joe Armstrong singing and Tre Cools drummin they contrast to form a great sound one not to be forgotten, the lyrics are great and it is excellent.
