Advantages: great tracks and equally great energy! Disadvantages: none!
...but out of them all Dude Ranch stands out as a musical wonder above the rest. Every song Blink 182 have ever written are great, with simple but effective rhythms and catchy childish lyrics! This immaturity is what makes them so fun and makes Blink 182 what they are, this shines through when you listen to Dude Ranch. This album is a lot less commercial than Enema of The State as it is older and less publicised but is still far better in my opinion.
... ...with bouncy happy rhythms that i love and catchy, humourous lyrics!! The words show the bands immaturity bu i think this is one of the reasons that they are so attractive to me - after all - no-one ever wants to grow up!
The cover is bright + colourful just how i like it and shows all 3 of the band in its original line-up in compromising positions on a ranch! The entire inlay is based on a country and western theme and you are shown various pictures ...

Other than this, Dude Ranch is a fantastic album. You'll laugh, you'll cry, you'll probably gasp in horror as your Grandmother finds the cover booklet and has a coronary taking a peek at the lyrics!

...released in 1997 and called Dude Ranch just shows you just how good Blink 182 are and I think that this album is better, it is a bit less commercial than Enema of the State. There have also been a lot of people saying that they have left their punk roots, but the music is still the same, just more popular.
Dude Ranch has and is probably cruder than Enema of the State, but this is good as this is a very funny album, with very humorous lyrics. Since ... ...changed and their drummer on Dude Ranch, Scott Raynor, has been swapped for their new drummer Travis Barker.

...of the reasons I bought Dude Ranch. A live in LA version of this track can be found on the What's my age again? single CD 1. The drumming sound outstanding with the guitar work and lyrics. All the extra drum beats are in time with the lyrics.Tom sings the whole song but Mark does cut in repeating a few of the words.
There is a little ending dialogue:
Ahhhhhhh.........(a few girls screaming)
(then Mark's deep voice cuts in with) What? It'll clear ... ...doctor said it's not infectious, it'll be gone in a week.

Advantages: Raw sound Disadvantages: are there any?
Many Blink-182 fans will tell you that this is Blink-182 at their best, and it is very difficult to argue.
A 15 track album with some good fast tracks and also with many humerous unterludes and subjects.
Main tracks from this album are 'Dammit' and 'Josie' - both released in the US and helped to gain Blink-182 the majority of their pre-enema fans.
This Album was done before the band was fully signed up to a major label and so the production is ... ...much more raw sound which is very effective and different if you have only heard their latest stuff.
It has joke songs in 'Degenerate' (see title) and 'A New Hope' which is a song about Pricess Leah (star Wars). 'I'm sorry' which is the final track on the album also has a humourous bit on the ending as does 'untitled' which is also a fantastic track.
Blink-182 have some great tracks on this album such as Apple Shampoo, Dick Lip - which despite ...

Advantages: Something new, addictive Disadvantages: Too crazy?
I believe that Blink 182 are the biggest thing to happen to Punk Rock since Green Day arrived. Both "Dude Ranch" and "Enema of the State" are excellent albums, with my preference going to "Dude Ranch" as it is less commercial and more "raw". Because of the UK pop-orientated market, Blink 182's releases - "What's My Age Again", "All The Small Things" and to-be "Adam's Song" are all good tracks, but for punk rock fans the top tracks on "Enema of the ... ...However, if you prefer your music a little more raw than Enema of the State then I'd recommend "Dude Ranch" for you - which shows Blink 182 at their uncommerical best with fast drum beats and heavy guitar work. Along with their funny, outrageous style, tht is. The best song on "Dude Ranch" is Josie - which has to be a modern classic if you get my drift.
They're popular and they're very good. If you have to but one album then buy "Dude Ranch" - naah ...

Dude ranch is blinks, maybe even the, best album ever. There is one fault none of the songs beat Adams Song. Allthough this album was realesed in '95 it still is the great and greenday, less than jake and other alternate/ska bands should all aim for albums of equal quality as this.
The song links are great and there are some dead funny things in there.

This track is one of the main reasons I bought 'Dude Ranch'. It totally kicks ass! The guitar work in this track couldn't be much better. The drums play a bigger role in this track than they did in Pathetic. They play consistantly thoughout the whole track with really great sound in fills when the chourus comes around. Mark sings the whole of this track.
The video for this track is really funny! It's all about Mark seeing his ex-girlfriend at the ... ...trying to get closer to her and her new boyfriend is getting really pissed off. Tom, Mark and Scott sit behind them in the cinema and Mark puts his feet up right next to his ex's head, her boyfriend then puts Mark's fett down and sends him toppling to the floor making a fool of himself. Then Mark gets chased around by the boyfriend and Mark gets beaten up at the end. To finish the video, Mark's ex goes off with a really cheesy cinema assistant.

...from Blink 182's outstanding album, Dude Ranch. A live version from LA can be found on the What's my age again? single CD 1.
This song is kind of a duet between Tom and Mark. I would say that Mark does more singing in this track. The guitar word in this track is particulally good. The drums don't do much, they are just sort of tapping along in the background.

Review of Dude Ranch - Blink 182
Advantages: Amazing songs, pop/punk at its best Disadvantages: none
Though my brain tells me that this is not in fact their best album,
every time one of the songs comes onto the radio or I put it on I
can't help turning up the volume and loving every second of it. Dude
Ranch (the last album before Enema) is so brilliant, but this album
seems to be so compelling I'm listening to it most of the time. Every
song on this album seems to be of single caliber in its self. The song
'All the Small things' which got ... ...the worst on the album. This is an album where the music is the
main factor but the lyrics are so good this is hard to argue.
This has got to be one of the best albums of all time whatever sort
of music you are into. Whether it be pop, punk, rock or hardcore
(and any others you can think of) this album appeals to it. The bass
guitar and drumming fits perfectly and that little bit of magic is
there to make an unusually good core for the lead ...

Blink 182: Dude Ranch:
As I am a Blink 182 Fan I Know practically every track word for word.
I think that the tracks on this album are not as good as the ones on Enema of The State or Take off Your Pants and Jacket…
Pathetic: I mainly only play this song when some-one has annoyed me over something stupid because it is Pathetic. I love the drum beat in this song.
Voyeur: Great guitar tune but the beat is a little too much for it.
Dammit: I love ... ...tops it off from the beat and tune.
Boring: funny because I only listen to this song when im bored or im with some one I find boring. I love the bass line in this song because I can actually hear it and it is amazing.
Dick Lips: Me and my friend love playing this song we listen to it all the time. I love the drum beats in this song it makes it totally awesome.
Waggy: Not so keen on this song to be fairly honest it could be better with the beat.

Blink 182 – Dude Ranch
There is a big cow on the ranch on the cover stare it, out don’t blink.
The album was released in 1997 by cargo/mca records the cd is produced by Mark Trombino.
The band members are: Mark Hoppus on bass and vocals,
Tom DeLonge on guitar and vocals and Scott Raynor on the drums.
Just to give you a taster of this top quality album here is a list of tracks with some lyrics from them.
1. PATHETIC – I know ... ...a bum’s what she called me.

...what they could do with Dude Ranch, a classic punk album. Every track is brilliant and is vintage Blink 182. The guitar and drums sound is pulled off to perfection, with some pounding riffs and thumping beats. A lot of ths is light-hearted and tongue in cheek, which is how the band work best. The selection of songs is perfectly balanced with alot of very funny songs about, among other things, relationships with animals, aswell as some more serious ones. The speed of the tunes ranges from moderately slow to super sonic light speed (I think thats around about 100 billion miles a second- The drummer must get really tired!).
