The Start of a Legacy! Review ofEnter The Wu Tang (36 Chambers) - Wu-Tang Clanby
Mcicp1981
Advantages: Ultra hungry Emcees, great production Disadvantages: None
Enter the Wu-Tang (36 Chambers) is the 1993 debut album from New York rappers The Wu-Tang Clan. Consisting of 9 members rap had never seen or heard anything like the Wu-Tang at the time this was released. The RZA produced the full album himself by using mixtures of classic soul samples with clips from kung-fu movies, making menacing beats that showed the grittiness of the performers raps in full glory, with cheap studios and cheap equipment used in ...

Advantages: Classic Hip Hop Disadvantages: A couple of average tracks
"Enter The Wu-Tang" (36 Chambers) came out in 1993 as the debut album from the Staton island Hip Hop crew, Wu-Tang Clan. The crew who consisted of U-God, Inspectah Deck, ODB (deceased), Ghostface Killah, GZA, Method Man, RZA, Raekwon and Masta Killah were groundbreaking as they broke through with a hardcore underground sound to re-mould the way that East Coast Hip Hop would be done thereafter.

The Statement Of Intent Review ofEnter The Wu Tang (36 Chambers) - Wu-Tang Clanby

Advantages: Awesome power; perfect rapping Disadvantages: Ciao is not a rap-friendly place
For seasoned rap observers like myself the glory days of this particular genre of music was the three year period 1988 to 1991. This was the birth if "gangsta" rap and the mellow, polar opposite "DAISY Age" murmurings of De La Soul and PM Dawn. Then Ice Cube left NWA and went solo, NWA split up, Dr Dre discovered Snoop Dogg, and the pioneers of rap in the late 80s failed to find their voice and repsond successfully to the poppier direction in which ...

Advantages: Unreal production. MCs of the highest quality Disadvantages: None I just wish the next two could've been as good
I simply cannot believe that this album is appearing in bargain buckets or on reduced shelves. It is so good it hurts!
Back in 1993 Hip Hop was changing tack. New York was always home of what is now the biggest selling type of music on the globe, but the West Coast was taking over thanks firstly to the gangsta rap of NWA then the G-Funk of Dre, Snoop Warren G etc.
But straight outta Staten Island NYC came the clan. They first dropped a 12inch ...

Da Bomb......... Review ofEnter The Wu Tang (36 Chambers) - Wu-Tang Clanby
Fayaz
Advantages: Wu-Tang. Disadvantages: Disappointing second album
What can you say about the Wu?........they are comming though and the outcome is critical...This Album, totaly redefined the way hiphop was heading. you get lazy rapping from Puff Daddy, and commercialised from Will Smith, but as Dre, Eric B and Rakim, sugar hill gang all go down in history as shaping hip hop. This Album, when Hip hop was looking a bit sorry for itself, blew up the whole of the industry, what was left???....just raw beats from RZA, ...

Advantages: Fantastic rhymes and rythms Disadvantages: None
With the hip hop industry heading on a downward spiral into obscene amounts of guns and violenve lead by the west coast g-funk, rap was becoming some what, over the top. But then "Wu-Tang Clan" stepped on the scene, a group of 9 rappers with fresh and hard hitting sounds.
"Enter The Wu-Tang (36 Chambers)" is un doubtedly one of the most influential rap albums of all time, with the razor sharp production of the RZA and the flowing rhymes of such ...

Advantages: killer production, some classic songs Disadvantages: if you don't like it raw, this album isn't for you!
This was the album that announced the arrival of the Wu-Tang clan and begun a global phenomena. At the time it was like nothing else out there with the Wu’s kung fu imagery (and samples) and masked faces. The track “Method Man” was the first to blow up but it is for classics like “C.R.E.A.M.” (cash rules everything around me) and the Gladys Knight sampling “Can It All Be So Simple” that this album will be remembered. The production is all RZA, and ...

Advantages: All good tracks, all good. Disadvantages: none i can think of
Finally a decent rap group with a world of decent hits, there has not been a group like that for a while now. Sucsess lies in numbers, Wu-tang have about 10 members and are very sucsessfull. Sucsess lies in not realiseing any tracks, Wu-Tang havn't realised any tracks and are a superb rap group. Their first album is like a big fat pay check for all the members and still continues to sell. Due to word of mouth 5 of my Rap friends have gone out and ...

The Wu-tang clan Released this album to a mass critical acclaim back in 1993. At the time hip hop was all about the emerging west coast scene, with artists like Dr Dre and Snoop Doggy Dogg dominating the scene. This was all about to change when the members of the Wu dropped this album.
The album was produced by the Rza, a full time Wu-tang member and featured the rapping skills of the Gza, Ol Dirty B'stard,Inspecter Deck, U-God,Ghostface Killa,Raekwon, ...

Enter the Wu-Tang is a great album as it portrays all the Wu-tangs charcatoristics and all there styles. It gives the listen an idea of how Wu-Tang are related to Shaolin and other Martial Arts. The Album features all the Clan and there are quite a few decent track. one good track is Tearz that tells a story where a security guard accidently gets killed. Clan in da front is also a great track featuring ghost face killer. The Method Man track is also ...

The True Classic Review ofEnter The Wu Tang (36 Chambers) - Wu-Tang Clanby
ceminem
Oh the good ole days when the wu had their distinct shaolin sounds. Where have they gone these days. The Wus first Lp is truly one of Hiphops true classics. It added a lot to the game, grimey beats, excellent flowing wordplay and flow.
This mix of hiphop fused with shaolin culture was a true breakthorugh, refreshing rap.
The clan consists of leaders, RZA and GZA, and the clan are Masta Killa, Method Man, ODB, U-God, Inspectah Deck, Ghostface ...

Advantages: Best album produced by the Wu-Tang Clan Disadvantages: none
With the release of the Wu-Tang Clans third album, the W, its interesting to see that their debut album, 'Enter the 36 Chambers' still adorns the shelves of music shops worldwide, and is still very popular. Being the 3rd album I ever bought, 36 Chambers was definately a good choice, and despite years of listening to it, its still my favourite album. The Wu-Tang Clan combine excellent wordplay and battle their way through the album, which is laced ...
