Advantages: good quality tracks, solid album, funny in places as always. Disadvantages: a bit short
The streets (aka Mike Skinner) has always been quite "different" from your average song maker. Not really rap, not really dance, his music is odd yet appealing. Im a great fan, i have to admit and this being his third album and most recent, it just slipped its way into my collection. The Streets music has always been quite chilled out and sombre, yet appealing if only for the humour value. Quirky lines and clever songs, the tunes are catchy and the ... ...little more depressing, in all honesty. Not a good word or a good feeling, but it feels like he's a little down in the dumps. There are still some amusing, yet poignant tracks (see "way of the dodo" about how we are wrecking the planet but it will still be here once we've all gone "the way of the dodo") but mostly it has a sort of downtrodden theme that you'd be more likely to expect from the likes of Coldplay. Having said that, its a very good album ...

Heaven for the Weather- Dry humour combined with decent production, another happy go lucky track. 7/10
I Love You More- The simple piano is the best thing about this track, he has done this concept to death. Not great. 4/10
The Way of The Dodo- Another positive message, more old school Streets beat. Whether Skinner can pull of the preaching ... ...the concept of the track, technically one the best songs he has written, his words just work on this track 8/10
Edge of the Cliff- Track about how far Mike's come, back from the 'edge of the cliff' (Drugs and Drink wise) I love this track its positve and thought provoking music. 9/10
Sherry End- Like this, bouncy interesting beat, combined with witty lyrics. 6.5/10

Advantages: philosophy, metaphors, strong emotions, deep Disadvantages: vocals not perfect
I am going to start with the strongest track in this album "The Escapist" I find it amazing how it use's metaphors to describe what I belive is the secreat to creative thinking "the walls were never really there" "no barriers, no boundries" inspiring free thinking in my eyes. Further more mike mentions " i'm not traped in a box " which to me says the artist of this track is open minded to all possibilities. " i am not here at all your dearly fooled" ... ...the song to the walk, your missing the metaphor - I feel used to descirbe a way of thinking. The Song "love you more" this is very deep. I feel the aim of this song is to express fear of loving, because of the risk of getting hurt. In this song it feels like the artist has thought of all of the possibilites and seen the end result in his mind " the voice inside my head is always right which is why the awkard silence" so... "Which is why I'm never ...
