Advantages: A few nice tracks Disadvantages: A few bad tracks
If you have read my review of Norah Jones first album (Come Away With Me), then you will know that it was only recently I discovered what I have been missing out on.
“Come Away With Me” was a tremendous debut album winning her several Grammy awards, no to mention selling millions of copies, an outstanding start any performer would be delighted with. So it goes without saying that her second album would have to be something simply magical ... ...Jones released her second album “Feels Like Home” less than 2 years after “Come Away With Me”, for those of you who know nothing of her, her rich sultry style can only be described as somewhere between Jazz and Country with a slight injection of pop.
“Come Away With Me” was a much more relaxed album, a true chill out sound with a tinge of sadness but “Feels Like Home” has a very different sound, it’s ...

...about finding out how someone feels about you, but not quite believing it. It is a dreamy song musically, and one which will always chill you out rather than getting any blood pumping. It is a nice enough song, but there is just something missing that I can’t put my finger on. The more I listen to it, the more I am inclined to think it lacks emotion, but I know many who disagree with me. 5/10
‘Carnival Town’ is the slowest track on the album, and ... ...jazz heavy song, which just feels that it needs that final push to deliver what it hints at. 5/10
The opening bars of ‘The Long Way Home’ are like something you’d see on an old cowboy film, and does not get the song off to the best of starts, but when this lolloping beat continues through the song, it overpowers the vocals, and makes for a disastrous song. It is a cover version, and in my opinion, one that she would have been better off leaving ...

Advantages: fantastic voice and a chilled out feel Disadvantages: maybe too laid back in places
There is a familiar concept banded around in musical circles known as… "The difficult second album". It is a phenomenon that rightly haunts many artists and there is good reason for it. Imagine you are a band or artist struggling round the circuit for years writing your material as your own whim and desire takes you, testing those songs in front of live audiences for years and then one day it happens, the contract is signed, the studio is booked ... ...very little, the problem arises a year later when the men in the suits call a meeting with you to say they want a follow up album that pushes you even further into the public eye, a few more singles like the last ones and a worthy follow up to the debut album. Now you have to replicate in a matter of months for this album what it was that you spent years over for the first album. Hence the concept of a difficult second album. Often in a rush to follow ...

Advantages: It's got a DVD Disadvantages: Another version to buy
This is an updated version.
How do you get the music buying public to buy an album again that has already topped the U.K. charts?
Well you give them more of what they have already parted with cash for; this seems to the thinking behind the release of this “Deluxe” edition of the second album from Norah Jones.
Don’t get me wrong as an admirer of the vocals and songs of this artist I was more than happy when a friend gave me this ... ...album has now got a card slip-cover sleeve with a different picture to the original release of the album, the sleeve is a 3 part digi-pack with the same C.D. cover as the first version but with this version the C.D. cover is in the middle pocket of the digi-pack, the credits now list all the information to cover the added extra elements of this version, there is also now a D.V.D.
The D.V.D has 4 live tracks, 3 of the tracks appear on the album and ...

...stronger with every listen. Feels Like Home with The Handsome Band and special guests. I am a big fan of Norah Jones. Her first album, Come Away with Me was an absolute classic. The album was certified diamond by the RIAA on February 15, 2005 having sold over 10 million copies in its first three years of release. It won five awards at the Grammy Awards of 2003, including "Record of the Year", "Album of the Year", and "Song of the Year" for "Don't ... ...to an article I read, Feels Like Home is the second album by jazz songwriter Norah Jones, released in 2004. It sold a million copies in the first week of its U.S. release, the first album to do so since Britney Spears' Oops!... I Did It Again (2000) and it was the second best-selling album of 2004, with about 4 million copies sold. It sold 1,920,000 copies on its first week worldwide. Advantages: starts and ends well Disadvantages: has a lot of 'filler' tracks
Having heard Norah Jones' debut album (its a bit hard not to have had a listen one way or another after all the hype) I decided to but her second one. So with high hopes I did so.
Her Debut titled “Come Away With Me” was, in opinion pretty damn good. It made her a star, a millionaire (i assume) and Grammy award winner. I seem to remember opening the paper to see a picture of her with her arms full of so many grammy awards that they looked ... ...can imagine that after hearing this much-hyped debut album, i had very high hopes for her second one. “Feels Like Home” was released less than 2 years after “Come Away With Me and it still holds her original style combining jazz with country and a slight bit of pop on some songs.
“Feels Like Home” has shown how she has matured musically and has experimented a bit more. It is more upbeat than 'Come away with me' which ...

...awaited Norah's second offering - Feels like home.
Upon first listen you'll find yourself slipping into a daze - lost in the melodic tones of a voice which shivers through the air. After a few listens you'll find yourself unknowingly humming or singing to yourself the beautiful words of "Those sweet words" and "Toes". Other songs included within the CD include her current, hazy single "Sunrise". An up-beat tune which you'll find yourself dancing ... ...on this CD a guest appearance by Dolly Parton - an unusual and excellent collaboration which shows Norah to be the talented ingenious individual whose music we have come to adore. "Creepin' In" has all the stereotypical tones of a country and western dance with the contrasting country tones of Parton and the city-on-a-summers-afternoon tones' of Jones.
Whilst I could rave about this magnificent album all day I will say that songs such as "Carnival ...

NORAH JONES – FEELS LIKE HOME
Too much drink, party political broadcasts and Norah Jones.
The above three things all have one thing in common; they have an annoying habit of making you very sleepy.
Now don’t get me wrong this is by no means a negative swipe at Norah Jones, I enjoyed this CD immensely. The problem is that you get so relaxed listening to it. Norah Jones is the equivalent of a comfy pair of slippers or that cosy home knit jumper ... ...sex.
Norah’s multi Grammy winning first CD was a major break through and triumph for her and this is the long awaited follow up that has so much to live up to. All I can say is it’s what you expect from Norah Jones. From the opening track Sunrise, Norah sets the lullaby soft snare tone.
The whole feel of the CD is very reminiscent of the track The Nearness of You. It doesn’t surprise, it doesn’t blow your mind or make you strip naked and dance ...

Advantages: Great Voice Disadvantages: Songs Seem to blend into each Other At Times
After buying this cd in American but not having a cd player to play it on i became very excited to listen to it, and was it worth the wait. Yes definatly. This album is much more of a mix of genres than the first one, it has a mixture of country and western, jazz, blues and electric guitars. With this album unlike the first one Nora Jones does some really good deuets (my faviourite being creeping in, with the great Dolly Parton their voices really ... ...to pump up the volume because all the songs can kind of merge together and become a bit repetative.
Come away With Me although being less experamental a album is probably more memorable, as each song seems to have more of a purpose and plus then Nora Jones was a new artist so it was very original, on this album when she really hits the good vibes are songs like Sunrise and Creepin in because they are the ones that really grab your attention and ...

This is not really a review of the full album. Originally, I simply wanted to direct people to the live session which she recorded for aol (www.aol.com.. then search for 'sessions' in their music section) which was definitely worth viewing - but has since been taken down. How annoying is that? Anyway, 'Feels Like Home' is the latest album so if you were lucky enough to see the session and liked it, maybe you might like to go look at the more detailed ... ...whole album. OK, Norah Jones. She's kinda cool, isn't she? She exudes integrity. Her beautiful, breathy voice could take you anywhere. Kinda takes you by the hand and leads you… To the back room of your heart? The piano sound is crisp and mournful, the percussion is heard as if from across the bar. The overall effect is of a warm hand stroking you. Lyrically, the songs are complex and startling. The theme tends to return to existential loneliness. ...

This is the second release from the great artiste Norah Jones. I would have to say that I do prefer the first release because it was much more of a jazz and blues CD. This one is more pop orientated. The CD has 13 tracks including the release of Sunshine. The Cd was released in Februrary. My favouriet song is Humble Me and Carnival Town. Her voice is very distinctive and it will be a pleasure to see how far she makes it. The tempo has increased since ...

Not having purchased the first CD or to be honest not really knowing who Norah Jones really was on purchasing this CD i was not sure what sort of music would be included on this CD.
