Maybe it's the fusion of folk and rock music that made it difficult for me to listen to this the first time round. They are strange bedfellows, but this album proves that you can do anything with the right melody and the right riff. This is Jeff Buckley’s only completely finished work. He had all to short a time making music on this planet. Sounding something like a modern day Led Zeppelin, Jeff’s vocal gymnastics are easily a match for Robert Plants and are less harsh as well. In my opinion this is a tuly outstanding album. If you love Jeff Buckley you'll love this album. He is a brilliant singer and composer, his guitar playing skills are flawless and nothing compares to him. His lyrics are deep and meaningful and his melodies are just as amazing.
