...best loved albums ever, a greatest hits collection of my favourite band. This combines the 80's classics of Rio, Planet Earth, New Moon on Monday etc with the newer hits from the wedding album like Ordinary World and Come Undone. This CD hasn't left my player for a long time now, as out of the 19 songs i listen to 18 regularly, the one i don't listen to is i don't want your love. ...in my head. I bought Greatest on a whim in a sale and when I got home and put it on my CD player I was surprised by the amount of tracks I knew on it. All of them bar their latest release, Electric Barbarella! All the tracks on the album (Latest release excluded again) are classics. Advantages: Good music, makes you dream and come back to 80's
Disadvantages: none

Well, really is a few hard choose a Duran Duran's record for to write my opinion because I am a big fan of them since 80's and I love all their reccords. But, as I have to choose one I have did that. Of course, I could choose "Decade" but never mind. This Cd is so special because it has the best Duran Duran's songs, also it has my one of my favourite "New Moon" that wasn't in "Decade" and I missed it so much. But, it is so special for another ... Many feel this as an unnecessary money making exercise. However this album features edits and mixes that are not completely accessible in the UK. By making this album they have given more people the best mixes of their music and have made sure that songs of a lesser standard are not there. The album starts with their more well known hits such as "The Reflex", "Rio" and "A View to a Kill" and closes with the lesser known songs "Electric Barbarella" and "Serious" but are no less worthy of being on the album.

Advantages: The best of the New Romantics with some catchy 80's songs.
Disadvantages: Some of the later songs not quite as good as eariler stuff

Duran Duran were part of the New Romantics music craze which swept the uk in the early 80's.This consisted of other bands like Adam and the Ants,Spandau ballet,Visage,Japan and ABC.The orginal line up of the band consisted of Simon le Bon (vocals) Roger Taylor( Drums) Andy Taylor ( guitar) John Taylor ( bass ) and Nick Rhodes(keyboards). Duran Duran pretty much epitomised and dominated the UK 80s music scene, and along with The Teardrop Explodes were one of the few good acts to spawn from the New Romantic movement. Instantly memorable catchy numbers. Okay, due to popular demand - I'm back. Sorry folks for the brevity. I didn't realise my paragraph was so enticing. Must try it again sometime. duran were to the 80's what take that were to the early nineties and the bay city rollers to the 70's. here is a semi definitve collection of the best of duran, from planet earth and up to and including electric barbarella, with old faves such as the reflex and wild boys. This is a superb album for fans old and new. there are some noticable exclusions such as do you believe in shame, but its still a cracking album and well worth buying vheck out the ... Read review
