...was mainly due to personality clashes within the band. In 1991 they made a compilation album "The Bangles Greatest Hits". I purchased this, and it is fantastic, it has all their best songs on it. I would highly recommend it, especially if you are a fan. ...

At the time the bangles seemed to be charactorised by "eternal flame" their biggest hit, which is sad since this sloppy ballard is not typical of the excellant singles they produced which had more of a a boppier edge. Breaking out of the LA Paisley Underground, their 1st 2 singles "Hero takes a fall" and "going down to Liverpool" are excellant 60's pastiches, a style seen later in their cover of "Hazy Shade of Winter".
