I am fond of a fair portion of Guns 'n' Roses tunes, but I'm not sure if I qualify as a fully paid-up fan. For this reason, its stands to reason that this is the ideal CD for me or anyone else who considers themself part of the same demographic. There's no denying that the band or its various line-ups have released some poor material in the past also, but all of the well known classics are here. Advantages: all the classics songs on one album
Disadvantages: none if you like this kind of music

I must confess I am not a great "heavy metal/rock" fan but this album is now the most played one in my house (since my Elton John review). I always imagined Guns N Roses songs to be full of bad language that gave the younger generation ideas beyond their station (and I believe some of their songs still do) but there are still some classic ballads which bring a tear to your eye (ie patience, dont cry and knockin on heavens door). ...good too, but on a Greatest Hits, covers should be more scarce (especially when they are Since I Don't Have You and Sympathy For The Devil - Tolerable, yes, greatest hits? No! Furthermore, tell me if I'm wrong, but I don't believe Civil War was even released, I'm not certain but, that's what I think. And, if that's so, how could it be a Greatest Hit? Its about time there was a guns n' roses best of album, you may notice that there isn't any of their tracks on "the best air guitar album"`s this is because Geffen records (which incidently is part of UMG Recordings Incorporated) whom is the label for guns n' roses, would not allow this, it was all to do with copywrite rights. I was given this album for Christmas about 4 years ago, and at the time I only knew about two songs from guns n roses. But When i first played this album, I realised I knew most of the tracks. It has some great hits on it such as 'welcome to the jungle,' 'Sweet child o mine,' 'Novemeber rain,' 'Knockin on heavens door,' 'Paradise city,' 'Live and let die,' and 'Sympathy for the Devil.' WOW! What a great album! Their best of singles all put onto one disk, the best of the classic g'n'r before Axl went and spoilt it all by going loopy =S But hey from that we have Velvet Revolver! Anyway back to the subject, this disk contains their biggest hits! Welcome to the jungle, sweet child o mine, paradise city, November rain, knockin' on heavens door to name a few. As everyone I know agrees, this CD is a must-buy; we had it playing on repeat in our house almost all the time for the first week after we bought it, at which point my partner added it to his portable collection and I had to get my own copy for in the house! First of all, I would like to point out that Guns N' Roses were one of the best rock and roll bands ever. Their music has influenced countless artists today and their songs remain marked in rock history. ...dont think guns n roses greatest hits are just guitar based because there is still that addictive drum patterns and catchy vocals from the legend (axel rose) such a cool front man and makes guns and roses what they are! i think this cd is for everyone and anyone! youl love it! if i could recommend a few of the tracks i guess that i would have to say that the dont cry song is awesome and so is the legendary sweet child o mine, furthermore ul ...
