...song that starts off the Greatest Hits CD, and over an hour of cracking tunes.
You don’t have to be a Queen fan to appreciate this album, and even if you haven’t heard of many of the songs (where have you been?!), then you will soon be taken in by the amazing vocal range of Freddie, and the guitar skills or Brian May. The sheer volume and differing styles of songs makes you appreciate the songwriting skill of the group collectively and individually, ... ...Love to the classic We Are The Champions.
This CD recently found its way back to my CD player, and has been stuck on re-play ever since. I’m not going to pretend that I have the vocal skills of Mr Mecury, but I defy anyone not to sing along to the songs here!
My personal favourites include:
Don’t Stop Me Now – One of my first “Going out” tunes to this day, and one that has often had me dancing in the shower.
Bohemian Rhapsody – Supposedly a mix ...

Released in 1981 Queen Greatest Hits, or Greatest Hits I as it's now known due to their continued success, is a compilation of Queen's classic early albums including A Day At The Races, News Of The World, Sheer Heart Attack to name but a few. The album contains 17 of their best tracks but they are perhaps not the best 17 if you get what I mean, I'll explain later.

...Bohemian Rhapsody does appear on Greatest Hits 2, but I feel it should have been on the first one!)
Here is a brief comment on some of my favourite song on the album:
Perhaps one of the most recognisable rock anthems of all time. This song epiimizes the power and passion of Freddie Mercury and Queen. It is very catchy and will soon have you singing along. It is a typical queen song with heavy guitar combining with Freddie's ... ...Are The Champions>
Often played with 'We will Rock You' this is another rock anthem that combines heavy guitar, but also has a softer feel to it than 'We will Rock You'. It is played most often at sports events to stir the crowd into a frenzy.
Hard to categorize this song; it is very repetitive in stlye and verse but is somehow catchy. The lyrics are fairly simple; the music is staright forward allowing Freddie to ...

Advantages: Good classic music........ Disadvantages: When Freddie died...............
Queen- Greatest Hits Volumes I & II, 2 CD set Whether you're a die-hard fan of Queen or you're just looking for a good compilation of their greatest hits, you can't go wrong with this 2 CD set. It is an excellent representation of their material as a whole. Queen's signature sound is unlike that of anyone else. Once you've heard it you'll recognize it anywhere. You'll go back for more. It is good, clean & clear, driving rock 'n roll with a little ... ...Bohemian Rhapsody?. Queen's greatest asset was perhaps the voice of frontman Freddie Mercury. He had an amazing voice which was capable of just about anything. he had the kind of voice that makes you want to scream when you hear some wannabe band try and cover his song, because they belonged to him. It was a shame when he died as he was queen's heart. Tracks on this set include: Bohemian Rhapsody, Another One Bites the Dust, Bicycle Race, Don't Stop ...

Although Greatest Hits I by Queen contains some essential tracks (Bohemian Rhaspody, We will rock you...etc), Greatest Hits II contains some of the best songs Queen ever wrote. Songs like A kind of magic, I want to break free, Radio Ga Ga and Hamnmer to Fall etc are all some of the bands most enduring material and is loved by all. This is a very good album, I believe everyone with a healthy interest in music needs a copy of this album somewhere. ... ...songs ever on one CD! Its one of those fantastic Cd's you can put on and leave to play right through every track, not one of them is a dud.
My only gripe with this Cd is that two of the songs that chronologically could have appeared on this album didn't make it onto the Cd (Scandal and Too much love will kill you), but other than that it is a must buy and everyone should own a copy. ...

...one of the best. Queens greatest hits 1 was the first Queen album I bought about 2 years ago and still ranks as probably the best of the 9 that I own along with the equally excellent. This album contains so many classic songs. It begins with most peoples favourite ‘Bohemian Rhapsody' which as you must know is a roller coaster epic of a song taking you through almost three completely different songs. ...no wonder that their first greatest hits album sold and sold and sold - and has never stopped doing so. How could any other group match a track record that includes "Killer Queen", "Crzay Little Thing Called Love", "Another One Bites The Dust", and of course the incomparable "Bohemian Rhapsody"? Two small criticisms. First, the packaging is rather pedestrian, and second, with the extra capacity available on CD, the omissions (understandable on vinyl) of their first mighty single "Keep Yourself Alive", admittedly not a hit, and the unexpectedly low-charting "Tie Your Mother Down", which fell foul of Radio 1 because of the lyrical implications, betrays a lack of ...

...was Queen. In terms of Greatest Hits this is one of the best ever and confirms that while they didnt make any outstanding albums they were a great singles band.
