This is the first installment from Me First and the Gimme Gimmes and to put it bluntly this album is brilliant. ...full length album and i have to say that they have done better, their most recent offering Take A Break being the best they have done. When you see the ratings for Originality and Lyrics i think you would be better off ignoring any low scores here as they are, after all, someone else's songs and someone else's lyrics. ...

Review of Have A Ball - Me First & The Gimme Gimmes

...fantastic. All of the songs have been 'punked' up, obviously the rhythm is the same as the original all be it a little faster, all the guitars and drumming is faultless. The vocals are occasionally a little rough and throaty sounding, but I don't think it comes across as a bad thing. In my opinion Seasons In The Sun is the highlight of the album & Mandy is the one I'd most likely skip. If you've heard any of the other CDs my Me 1st... then I think ...
...that breathes a breath of fresh air into old hits than the Gimme's. Comparing this to the other Me 1st albums I think it's almost as good as 'Blow In The Wind' (the 3rd album) of which I like some of the songs more. There is no comparison to their 2nd album 'Are A Drag' which I thought was really weak and only had 1 good track: My Favourite Things I know this is a short review but there's not really allot else to say, these are all good old songs ...
