John Mayer - Heavier Things - Rock / Pop (Acoustic)

John is from Atlanta, USA, and is very well known over in the states, but less know elsewhere L His music was underground for a while until he shot to success with his first hit single "No Such Thing". His music, on the whole is a VERY well ... ...wide range of incorporated styles and some amazing guitar playing that is so simple but so strikingly effective. As you can tell I have nothing to sing but praises for the man at the moment, and I enjoy listening to his music very much.
I think this is one of the very few albums that I own where I wont say, "you might want to skip this track" to any of the songs!

Advantages: Chilled out easy listening Disadvantages: Hasn't made it big in the U.K.
I have been listening to this artist now for more than4 years and this album is definately the best so far. I personally recomend track 2 "Bigger than my body," for its up beat good time feeling, and Track 8 "daughters," which lyics are very meaningful. These tracks both help to sum up what this fantastic artist is all about. I would describe the artist as chilled rock with influiences from jazz and country. I have discovered John Mayer a few years ago and i have been watching his evolution ever since. He managed to surprise me with his genuine open spirit, great lyrics and incredible live performances. Very few artists sound better on stage than in studio, he is one of them, all respect for that. With "Heavier Things" i sensed a more mature music, in lyrics as much as in sound. It's the kind of album that you never grow tired of. It does not matter ...
