Advantages: New Manson material and Twiggy's back! Disadvantages: It's actually quite dull.
_The High End of Low_ is Marilyn Manson's latest album, after a seven-year wait for fans. The buzz prior to the release was that Manson was claiming it was as briliant as _Antichrist Superstar_, but since its release reviews have been mixed. I'm going to review this as I listen to it for the first time. I'm a *bit* of a Manson fan; I used to think he was a bit of a prophet, but it's been a long time since he released anything as anthemic as "Fight ... ..._We have reached the high end of low...._ We've reached a new low, in fact. Dull, dull, dull. 4/10 ==14. "Into the Fire"== _This is the film, close to the third act and the misery..._ _It's God pissing down on you..._ AARGH! This is still awful. It's more like Manson pissing down on me and telling me it's raining. I'm actually starting to hate this album. 3/10 ==15. "15"== The best thing that can be said about this song is that it's the last one ...

Advantages: another album for the collection, He's over the sad love songs. Disadvantages: Not much on my side.
Manson does it again on “high End Of Low”. His brilliantness to phrase and place words still ceases to amaze me. It has little thing similar to the original and I’m not talking “Antichrist Superstar” (for you people who thought that was the beginning) I’m talking “Portrait Of An American Family” and the spooky kids. In my opinion he goes back to the old school with guitar for sound instead of electronic. The album is surprisingly good, all for a ... ...Acoustic songs are good from Marilyn Manson but not love songs. Don’t quite feel it. “Into The Fire”, feel the same way. And “Pretty As A Swastika” wasn’t quite feeling either didn’t quite understand the lyrics.
All and all its still a good album most all the songs were great. “Four-Rusted Horses” interesting song love the county sound. “Leave A Scar” the best chorus on the album. “Ama-goddamn-motherfuckin-Geddon” example of the amazing sound and ...

Advantages: A good number of tracks. Disadvantages: No consistent themes, unlike Mechanical Animals or Holywood.
...really don't think that The High End of Low is among Manson's finest work. Many of the tracks fail to stick in your mind, but the ones that do are quite annoying. Take Four Rusty Horses, for example. It's a very repetitive, acoustic and safe track that doesn't really seem to sum up what Manson's all about musically. And what is this new habit he has, putting a dance version of the first single off the album at the end? I don't think that it's as ... ...he has a long way to go if he wants to make an album even close to the the quality of previous albums Antichrist Superstar or Holywood. I won't condemn the whole album, though. Armageddon is a catchy, track packed with attitude, and Into The Fire is one of the most beautiful and emotional songs Manson has written to date. ...
