Let's Rock...Robot Rock
Review of Human After All [ECD] - Daft Punk by x_helix_x

Advantages: Daft Punk going back to their roots
Disadvantages: A lot different from Discovery album; some may not like that

...their own voices. "We are human after all" is what they declare but Daft Punk don't just record their voices straight, no they distort it and change it making themselves sound like robots. "The Prime Time Of Your Life" seems more of a return to their cut and paste past. It's a kind of mix of all different sounds, with a heavy filtered bass and beats layered over flashes of a synth. They use bits of vocals which has all been mashed up using a vocoder ... Read review

Very electro-punk. A little bit daft.
Review of Human After All [ECD] - Daft Punk by TheFirstEscapist

Advantages: Excellent production. Different direction (new sound). Not a lot else.
Disadvantages: Overuse of the robotic voice sound. Not a single 'killer' hit (like One More Time, Aerodynamic etc..).

...- becuase there's nothing particularly human about it. Maybe I've missed the point of the album and that it was an experiment for Daft Punk - but given the amount of publicity it had in Japan - I doubt that was the case. If it was an experiment - then it went wrong. If it was released as a commercial album - in my opinion it's a disaster - because there's not a single track here worth being released as a single. A very disappointing effort from ... Read review

they are human after all
Review of Human After All [ECD] - Daft Punk by dsra999

Advantages: new sound created through the use of guitars
Disadvantages: repetative???

Human After All, the highly anticipated third album from the French duo Daft Punk and only took six weeks to make. The album begins with the Track Human After All which has a real electronic sound to it very similar to Kraftwerk, you will also instantly notice the use of electric guitars in the track all of which are preformed by Daft Punk, this helps to create a new sound to Daft Punk's music and this theme is continued throughout the album. The ... Read review

Daft Punk way too daft!
Review of Human After All [ECD] - Daft Punk by John_severn

Advantages: Daft Punk!! new daft punk songs.
Disadvantages: Very samey

Well if you have been a lover of daft punk like I have for many years, you may be as disappointed with this CD as I was. It does take a lot of listening to before you can really get into any of the songs. Most of the songs on this CD have a much the sameness about them, there doesn't seem to have been as much effort put into writing this CD as there has been to produce it. And since I've listened to this now many times I still only seem to love ... Read review

buy it use it break it fix it
Review of Human After All [ECD] - Daft Punk by midnight_show125

Advantages: original sound, good basslines
Disadvantages: a bit repetitive, songs within themselves dont vary much

The duo have evolved from their roots of Hip-Hop and Pop to a mixture of acid-house and techno to provide us with a unique sound that's a bit like marmite - you either love it or you hate it. Always original, Daft Punk follow up their previous albums with an even more electric and eclectic mixture of quitar and synth. They seem to like the robotic voices, which feature in all the songs on this album, which can get slightly repetitive, and the ending ... Read review
