Advantages: A really good album Disadvantages: None that I can think of
Texas gave themselves a tough task in trying to live up to their previous album, White On Blonde, but The Hush is certainly an album they can be proud of.
There are a number of excellent tracks, most notably “Summer Son”. Singles “When We Are Together” and “Once In A Lifetime” also feature, although once again it is some of the less heralded tracks which shine through, most notably “Day After Day”.
The tracks are excellent, again showing a diversity ... ...music which is versatile, as Sharleen Spiteri’s voice is the perfect foil on all the tracks. It can be either punchy or mellow, although I dare say that her part in the songwriting process helps this along.
An excellent CD and one which you’ll have no trouble listening to over and over again. ...

Advantages: few really good songs Disadvantages: some not-so-good somgs
I bought this album because it had been recommended by a lot of magazines but when i got it i was relally quite dissapointed by it. I just really liked the songs that had been released as singles- I think Summer son was really good and In Our lifetime was a massive hit for them. the album didn't really change throughout it, and I got a bit bored by the end. it'd be good for all the "cool" parents out there. The Hush went down really well, and Texas ...

Review of Hush, The - Texas
This is the recent album they have out (up until 30/8/2000), and I think most of the singles on it have been released now. My favourite song on the album is ‘In our lifetime’, (the one with the freaky stairs on the video). There are still a couple of similar sounding ones but on the whole it’s the better album. ‘Summer Son’, ‘When we are together’ and ‘In our Lifetime’ would be the most popular ... ...but have added extras like intriguing videos and a touch of soul.
Tracks include:
In Our Lifetime Tell Me The Answer Summer Son Sunday Afternoon Move In When We Are Together Day After Day Zero Zero Saint
Girl
The Hush The Day Before I Went Away ...

Advantages: The perfect follow up to "White On Blonde" Disadvantages: Possibly a bit overproduced
There are just some albums that complement Winter (Portishead) and some (Texas) that complement Summer. Sharleen's warm breezy vocals yet again are wonderful on the follow up to the successful CD "White On Blonde". In fact "When We Are Together" has a similar style to "White On Blonde". However, the rest of album is a progression from the previous album. "Sunday Afternoon" and "Move In" are beautiful subtle tracks whilst "Summer Son" and "Saint" ...

Texas in my opinion had a massive job to do to follow 'White on Blonde' and although the album is very good I do not think its as good as White on Blonde. There are a couple of catchy tunes and singles for example 'In Our Lifetime' and 'Summer Son'. To me the album is more likely to be remembered by the video of Summer Son where Sharleen Spiteri does a fantastic job of being made love to by the Sun - hot. Its still worth a listen to please do not ...

The latest album from Texas is truly great. There is a variety of songs, from sad and slow songs to quick songs such as Summer Sun. The album has 12 songs and the best song on there for me is 'When We Are Together' but each song is as good as the other. The album is only &10 and is definetly worth it. You will never be bored of it. The only drawback is that it doesn't have numering on the tracks. All over it is a well worth the time it takes you ...

What can I say - Texas rule. Sharleen Spiteri's vocals are stunning, there is not , I promise you, one duff song on the album. There are some real rockers, like 'summer son'..laid-back ones like 'day after day'. If you loved their album 'white on blonde' you'll love this - it's just a developmenmt which doesn't dissappoint at all. You can't go wrong with this - perfect for background music or for driving along to on a summer's day. Go buy it - you ...
