Advantages: Raw, Energetic .... Excellent Album Disadvantages: Loud and crazy!!!!!
...something different.
Linkin Park, HYBRID THEORY, is a perfect selection of music for driving. It is an album that is raw, energetic, kinetic, and fully of emotion. If I had long hair, it would be one of those albums that would give you very bad neck ache the next day, as your head beats back and forth throwing those long locks all over the room. Lucky I have a skinhead really, because such action could be deemed rather dangerous when driving!!
... ...instant adrenalin rush and captures a mix of difficult musical genres, managing to very successfully blend rap, indie, rock, metal, and electronica dance. There seems to be a theme with many of the albums I have bought in the past and it's based upon taking a punt …. Often I like one song that much that I take a chance on the album, and this was one such album, but thankfully the gamble paid off. It doesn't always do so though! I remember purchasing ...

Advantages: Great hybrid of styles; it rocks! Disadvantages: Too short
...track that spoils it. Well, Hybrid Theory comes pretty close to being that elusive record. My one other criterion is the test of time: do I still like it a year later? So, look out for an update on this next year! Musically, Linkin Park sounds most like fellow newcomers, Papa Roach. At times they remind me of Faith No More, Korn, Deftones, Red Hot Chili Peppers. Their ‘thing’ is that they have two lead vocalists. One of them alternates ... ...a demented screaming growl (still melodic, though!) and the other is a sort of hip-hop style. Those thrashing guitars always back the combination but they’re not scared to get quiet also. The sleeve notes also reveal a bit about who the band are and how they regard themselves:
Linkin Park is:
CHESTER BENNINGTON: Vocals
ROB BOURDON: Drums, backing vocals
BRAD DELSON: Guitars, bass, backing vocals
JOSEPH HAHN: Records, sampling, backing ...

Advantages: great DJ,Great singin ratio, its very good Disadvantages: the drums are not very loud and its the same story with the guitars
I have read many ops on this album over the time I have been member on both dooyoo and ciao and I have felt that none of them have really done this great album justice. So I help that my op does………
A year ago hardly anyone had heard of linkin park and there nu-metal style, since then they have become massive and are taking the music industry by storm.
The band members are all very skilled and talented, however in some of the songs ... ...true potential. The drumming in the album is not really all that prominent, however if it was not there you would notice it! It just holds the beat to all of the songs, there is nothing special about the drumming.
The lyrics are actually quite good for a nu-metal band. They seem to have a meaning(if only I could work them out). They are sung in a brilliant way, the lead singer is very good and he has a very powerful and well used voice. The backing ...

Advantages: Greatly powerful Nu-Metal music, crushing guitar riffs. Disadvantages: Those not fond of guitar heavy music will not be impressed with what they hear.
Linkin Park exploded onto the music scene in 2000 with their 'Hybrid Theory' album. The band originally formed in 1996 under the name of 'Xero', actually changing the band name itself to 'Hybrid Theory' in 1999 before settling on the final name of Linkin Park. Whilst 'Hybrid Theory' did not stick as a band name, it did of course feature as the title of their début album which has to date sold in excess of 24 million copies worldwide.
'Hybrid Theory' ... ...that Linkin Park have released to date and contains the hit singles of 'Crawling', 'Papercut', 'One Step Closer', and 'In The End'. Whilst these are the hits, it is perhaps the album track 'Points of Authority' that is my favourite from this album. The track is just so raw and energetic, the band blast through this one without once looking back and it is therefore an absolute joy to listen to. It is edgy and you never quite know where the band are ...

...lyrics. Boy, was I wrong!!! Hybrid Theory is a very deep and meaningful album, with absolutely NO swearing at all, which may be surprising for such a hardcore band, but all the songs can be blasted from your stereo without any complaints...unlike the Limp Bizkit album, which is securely fastened to my CD rack! Linkin Park are a new metal group consisting of around 5 members...I can never be sure as they're always moving around headbanging, or whatever. ... ...the not-so-delicate eardrums may appreciate Hybrid Theory. Although all the tracks on the album sound vaguely the same, due to similar bass lines, the lyrics all tackle different issues.
The songs people may be familiar with are One Step Closer, Crawling, and the new Papercut, which are all amazing in their own way. They also never get boring either - I remember one day I listened to the album 8 times, without getting bored of the tracks. But maybe ...

...band were originally known as Hybrid Theory (perhaps eponymous albums are no longer in vogue and they were forced to change their name?) and it should therefore come as no surprise that voice also gets the treatment. Shinoda takes emcee duties, his rapping wrapping round Chester Bennington’s full-power Patton-esque vocals, with useful backing contributions from all.

...had a previous band called Hybrid Theory. Their music contains hip hop/rap/soft rock and hard rock. An ace combination of styles! I was introduced to their brilliant music when my sister (hakkved) bought this album and I loved it straight away. Linkin Park is now my favourite band, which is a hard thing to do because I like so many bands in rock.

It’s about someone ... ...they close their eyes they could still see a face watching them all the time and they can hear the watcher’s voice in their mind. Advantages: Excellent range of tracks Disadvantages: Too short
...and safe to say ' Hybrid Theory' was in my CD collection immediately.
Linkin Park's contribution to the Nu-Metal scene is with emcee/rap/excellent emotional singing and lyrics with electronic sampling, sctratching and fast drums with hard guitar riffs. But this isn't to say that Linkin hasn't experimented, each track has an original sound and shows each members different abilities. Changing the Nu-Metal class forever.
Band:
Mike Shinoda- Emcee ... ...Pushing Me Away
Finishing off Hybrid in no better way is Pushing, with a more melancholy intro and a more easy listening guitar riff. Chester does most of the lyrical work in this, Mike intervening during the end, and the calmer more rock feel leads me to believe that Shinoda didn't have as much to do with this track then as the rest. It certainly stands out more.
What can i say an absolute classic I bought in 2000 and I still listen to it now ...

...instrumentals, this definitly is a hybrid of amazing elements which make the unique sound of Linkin Park. Listening to this album of 12 tracks, you will realise why they are so successful all over the world, bringing fans of all kinds together.
Here are the tracks:
1) Papercut: A song which was taken out as a single, which is definitly single material. Mike's MC'ing is at a high standard in here with this unique method. This song manly has Mike ... ...use of electric guitars too.
2) One Step Closer: This song mainly consists of Chester's voice, which suits this track very well. It is a very catchy tune. Full of a heavy metal vibe with a ver unique sound to it. The chorus is especially brilliant.
3) With you: This has a dance element as well as heavy metal because it has sampling too which mix well together like orange and chocolate! Chester definitly proves that he has a "mammoth" voice and ...

Advantages: Everything! (Apart from the disadvantage) Disadvantages: Only 38 minutes long... :-(
...This is a shame, as Hybrid Theory is chock-full of interesting music in that 38 minutes. Their single 'One Step Closer' is just the tip of the iceberg in terms of what sorts of music they experiment with on the disc. A lot of it could be classified as heavy electronic as opposed to heavy metal, although tracks like "By Myself" and "Papercut" bring the power chords. Linkin Park is a fine blend of aggressive metal and hip-hop with a tinge of electronica. Behind the microphone Mike Shinoda and Chester Bennington share vocals duties to create an astonishing array of sounds. The span includes full out melodic singing to mild rapping, to near-hardcore screams. For those who may be alarmed with the hip-hop aspect to Linkin ...

...band used to be called Hybrid Theory and it is a well known rumour that they changed their name so they would appear next to Limp Bizkit in the record stores. Who knows if they did or not, but all I can say is that something has made them come in to the limelight. It turns out the band consist of 5 guys; Brad Delson, Mike Shinoda, Rob Bourdon, DJ Joseph Hahn and Chester Bennington. One of them even has red hair (but I don't know why I told you that). A lot of their success can be put down to a track they released as a single in this country, called 'One Step Closer'. Advantages: good songs, good lyrics Disadvantages: bit short
I first saw this band on CD:UK’s hotshots, and even after just seeing a short clip from their video I knew that they were going to be a rock band that I was going to like. You probably do not know much about the band, so here is a list of the members and what they play:
Chester: Vocals.
Rob: Drums, backing vocals.
Brad: Guitars, bass, backing vocals.
Joseph: Records, sampling, backing vocals.
Mike: Emcee, vocals, beats, sampling.
What ... ...what hits you? Yes, all have a vocal part to play, and this is a rock band with samples. The only other case of this sampling inclusion that stands out in my mind is Garbage, and yes, there is a slight similarity in the way the bands use sampling.
The album through and through is great. The twelve tracks only add up to about thirty-seven minutes, which is a good and bad thing. It is bad because this is not very long, and more of the same would make ...

...on the Linkin Park album, Hybrid theory. I will give you a song-by-song report on the CD.
01. Papercut, possibly the most famous of the tracks on the album and is a popular one with the younger generation. It has a great contrast between rapping against rock backing music. It is a brilliant song and is probably in my top 5 of the album.
