Advantages: Every track unique and perfect in its own way, a great nu metal album Disadvantages: no enhanced media for pc
Most people think Linkin Park are just a screamy band like any other but thats not true as this album proves. From track 1-12 you can see this is a completey unique band like no other. Starting off with "Paper cut" completey launches your mood into the album. Ending with "Pushing me away" leaves you completely rocked out, it's a good final song for this album.

...music, their first mainstream album Hybrid Theory was an amazing collection of songs. This album has its own unique style of rock music combining scream singing, rapping and electric percussion. The track listing on this cd is: Papercut This is a great song about paranoia, this song really shows of the talents of all members in the band, it is mostly rapped and one of the best songs on the album. One Step Closer This is another amazing song though ... ...all tastes (like most of this album), this song is about not being able being close to breaking point after taking abuse from someone and taking a stand. With You This song is about not being able to get someone out of your head, even though they are distant and dont want you. This is another really great song on this album. Points of Authority This is a very confident song about taking a stand against some one whos self righteous, this song was ...

Advantages: many, mainly great mixture of lyrics and beats Disadvantages: none, except to Papa Roach and Limp Bizkit of course!
I have slowely got into rock music more and more. i may still be classed as a new member of the rock society, but i know when i hear something good, and Hybird theory by Linkin Park is far more than that!!
Well, what can i say, from start to finish this album rocks!! Great beats, heavy yet effective lyrics, and the odd good melody too!! It kicks off in great style with a track called 'papercut'. in my opinion this song sums up Linkin park in one ... ...it! This is followed up with similar style tracks called 'With you' and 'Points of authority' with the well known 'One step closer' sandwiched in between. In 'Points of authority' the lyrics used are very cleverly used, talking about never going wrong, but everybody goes wrong at some point in their life. This is followed by the amazing 'Crawling' with is my personal favourite track. The beat, the lyrics, the melody and video just kick but out of ...

Advantages: Wow, where do I start? The lyrics have meaning, each track is unique, and anyone... pop lover or punk, can find something enjoyable in this album. Disadvantages: The tracks are quite short, with one being a mere 2:30... but each track has massive replay value.
First things first. Linkin Park are NOT in ANY WAY like Limp Bizkit. I know that reading reviews on this product (which is amazing) here and elsewhere they have been likened to Limp Bizkit and other "Blah Blah Blah, Let's Break Stuff" bands. Linkin Parks lyrics are nothing like Limp Bizkits, as they don't need to constantly swear just to get peoples attention. Yes, Linkin Park are a rock band that actually uses TALENT rather than swearing to attract ... ...months ago from a friend, and he told me to download "Papercut" in MP3 format... and I have been hooked ever since! I listen to the album for about an hour every night and it still doesn't grow old, because each and every song on the album is different in terms of meaning, lyrics and basically the way it sounds, whereas any track by Papa Roach can instantly be identified, because they all sound the same!
As an extra, the album even comes with a ...

Advantages: timeless songs and endless entertianment for evey occasion Disadvantages: the cover is a big confusing but that would be the only downfall of the product
Linkin Park has been a favourite band of mine for years now and this was the third CD of theirs that I bought, this amazing CD came out in 2000, a new millennium, a new CD for Linkin Park. Compared to all their other CD’s I have to say that ‘Hybrid Theory’ is my favourite, the combination of Linkin park songs that most of which have become metal legends, is outstanding. The song that stands out most to me is, of course, Runaway. This song illustrates ... ...This song exercises the never ending question of ‘why?’ and ‘how?’ the first track on this CD is ‘Paper cut’ also a truly original track. The beginning starts of all mysterious and creepy then the tempo picks up for a few seconds. This is repeated several times throughout the track. The overall effect is astounding and foreboding. ‘Points of Authority’ is also a favourite of mine. The beginning like many Linkin park songs starts off slow and quiet ...

Advantages: Excellent debut it gives an alternative to the sell outs, i.e. Limp Bizkit Disadvantages: Too Short
While there is no doubt that this is one of the best debut albums ever written, recorded and slapped onto CD, with the exception of maybe the Foo Fighters, it just leaves you wanting more of the anarchy which this album has brought to the world.
The insane, twisting meld of hip hop beats, and heavy guitar riffs, is pulled off excellently and shames other similar artists such as Limp Bizkit, who have there own respective styles. Who've been around ... ...its the fighting, dark atmosphere of One Step Closer, or the subtleness of Crawling, this album leaves you begging for more, not all thrash metal, it changes, like a chameleon in an environment, from Papercut to Runaway, which begs the question, what the hell is a slow song doin on a metal album, again it works excellently!! My favorite tracks on the album, are the three single releases, Papercut, One Step Closer, and Crawling, every other song is ...

Most definitely my favourite album, as well as The Eminem Show. This is a spectacularly talented group, they have their songs co -ordinated well, everything is just right in all of their songs. Not many groups/ artists have this talent either!

...their music and bought the Hybrid Theory 4 months later when it was IN THE CLEARENCE bin at HMV for £9.... which was nice :)
When reading the reviews for the Hybrid theory, it became obvious that many people have likened Linkin Park to Papa Roach and Limp Bizkit. In my opinion they are nothing like them. If you like Papa Roach and Limp Bizkit, you'll LOVE this band... but if you don't like PR or LB then you may still enjoy this music. There is no ... ...like you might find in a Limp Bizkit song. And they don't use profanity (except in Step Up which isn't even on the album any ways so...), which proves that they can write decent music with out having to swear their heads off

Advantages: 12 good tracks, Quite cheap to buy Disadvantages: none
Like the title says, this is the best nu metal album around by far. And even more amzingly, it is Linkin park's first album. What a way to start is what I say. It is all loud "raprock" with expert sampling, great singing form Chester Bennington and brilliant MCing from Mike Shinoda. Now when I say Mcing, most people will thing of rude-boy garage acts, but this is good MCing because it doesn't contain the words Bo, Selecta or Wicked at all.

It's nice to finally see that a nu metal band can now make it to the top without having to swear a couple of hundred times per song. In fact, there isn't a single swear word on the entire album. That must be a first from a nu metal band.
This album is simply great and the only problem is that there isnt ...

Well what can I say, quiet alot really..and I intend to. I first saw Linkin Park on TV late at night, I didn't have the volume up because I was listening to a CD at the same time (am I the only one who does that). Advantages: Superb album, outstandingly produced, no swearing Disadvantages: One weak track (Cure For The Itch)
Hybrid Theory. Linkin Park. Probably the best album of 2000. One of those albums which can be listened to however you want to. You don't need to listen to it in order as with some albums, all the tracks on it easily stand up in their own right. He has used an effect on several of the tracks where a tiny part of ... ...a little bit like a CD skipping, but works incredibly well and is most obvious in "In The End".

When an albums first track is as good as "Papercut" then you know that you are in for a treat, and that is exactly what you get with this the first album of rap-core band Linkin Park. In danger of being pigeonholed as just another Limp Bizkit/Papa Roach cloan, Linkin Park deserve more praise than that. Advantages: The occasional catchy melody Disadvantages: The rest of the album
The nu-metal craze, was thankfully short lived, the obsession with poor musicianship and mixing rap with metal was not the best idea that anyone ever had.
Linkin park were one of the many bands to jump on the aforementioned bandwagon, mixing their "unique" blend of metal, hip hop and what can only really be described as dance.
The vocals are cringeworthy, a whining post teenager pushing out lyrics of self harm and how its such a terrible world. ... ...I use that term loosely, as this album should not be saved in any circumstance) is that the occasional song has a few catchy melodies, which sadly I am now sick of after hearing them repeatedly driven into my ears from all rock clubs of early noughties.
Sadly, the band went even more downhill from here, which I believed was an impossible feat, scrabbling at failing hip hop artists to try and restore some integrity to their dying sound. ...
