...underground as my usual taste, I couldnt help but like this album. He may have gone commercial, but he still has mad skills. The intro grabbed my attention, sort of like a journey through Nas' other albums. Then the album kicks off with N.Y state of mind part II. This isn't one of my favourites but is still ok, I usually skip past it. The next, Hate me now, features one of my most hated - Puff Daddy, but he doesnt feature too heavily and the song ...
...hate him he wont stop. I quite like this track myself, but I got bored of it after a while. Standout tracks for me are definately Ghetto prisoners, Life is what you make it and Nas is like, the latter being my favourite, although DJ Premier uses the same style in most of his tracks, this is still original in its beat and the lyrics are on point. The album does have some filler tracks however, such as K-I-S-S-I-N-G, but the album is still pretty ...

This is a very different album to "Illmatic" Nas flushed with success didn't want to reproduce the anger and introspection of his first album and instead produced an album full of "big willie" raps with tales of riches from crime. Nas's incredible story telling ability remains and is featured on tracks like "the set up" and "shoot outs". Nas also displays his command ...
...perspective of a gun! The production is undeniably more commercial drawing lots of criticism that Nas 'sold out' by going the Trackmaster's route. It is in a different style but it is a very solid album featuring well written rhymes and solid production from the likes of Havoc from Mobb Deep, DJ Premier and Dr. Dre. If you buy this, make sure you get a copy with the bonus track "Silent Murder" included. ...

...state of ming Pt 2. I do not think this album had enough quality guest artists. It is not going to be a classic beacuse it does not have enought 'hit' songs in it. If you are a hip-hop fan this is definatly one to add the collection. ...Money is my bitch is a clever song and is abit like The makings of the perfect bitch on his latest album Street Disciple which is very clever. This album was made in 1999. The time nas was doubted and this album is a pretty good comeback the critisicsm he was getting.
