Advantages: Contains all Madonna's greatest hits. Disadvantages: None!
...'''REASON FOR PURCHASING THE IMMACULATE COLLECTION''' The Immaculate collection was the very first compilation album by Madonna and it includes twelve of her number one hits prior to the release of this album. Madonna was my childhood idol. I was first introduced to Madonna, way back in the early eighties, when I had just turned a teenager. She caught my attention when she released the song "Crazy For You" into the British charts and boy did I love ... ...before I finally got The Immaculate Collection on CD, because I had to wait for it's invention. I first bought The Immaculate Collection on cassette and purchased the CD of it around eight years later, to update my collection, with the more modern CD. This album was released in November 1990 and I remember receiving it as a gift from my Husband, that Christmas. I really was delighted to have received this, as I was able to play all my favorite Madonna ...

So, the immaculate collection, what is it? Well basically, the album itself takes us on a journey through Madonna's early career from 1984 up until 1990. It is arranged in chronological order and all the tracks are bunched together, according to the album that they were originally released on. It contains all the well known tracks that you would hope to find, as well as a host of others that you won't (I'll discuss later), and the great ... ...that the version on The Immaculate Collection is not great (it is a remix) and the electronica drums epitomised in the late 80s don't really help it establish itself. It is ultimately uplifting though and stands out as one of the pacier and well known tracks from Like a prayer.

This is a nice jolly bouncy song with plenty of pink girlie sentiment I'm afraid. It is however, nowhere near as girlie as Dear Jessie and ...

...really my concern when her Immaculate Collection is my most played CD and makes MY collection immaculate. Now for the tracks: 1. Holiday 10/10 This is one of my favourites. Its upbeat tune is very simple and basic but that's why it's great- it's such a simple and uplifting track that it makes one forget one's troubles. (ooh dear I sound like the Queen!) It's best, funnily enough, to play just before you go on holiday. It's a very catchy tune, as ... ...hardly any tune to it, not many words, no surprise that it wasn't released. THE ALBUM
The Immaculate Collection is Madonna’s first, and so far only, Greatest Hits Collection. It was released in 1990 and was not a complete singles discography, but contained 15 of her greatest hits since her career began in 1983, plus two new songs. The songs are arranged on the album in chronological order, so listening to the album takes you on a trip through Madonna’s 80s career, bringing back many memories as it THE MEMORIES
Before I ... ...Madonna fan she chose Madonna’s Immaculate Collection – and it’s easy to see why. It is great music for a party as just about everyone knows the songs and, like on the minibus, they are great to sing along with. In fact, this would probably go down as one of my favourite ‘feel good’ albums ever. From that moment, I dusted off my CD and have played it a lot since then – which brings me on to my final memory.
This CD was one of a few I took on holiday ...

...release of an album. The Immaculate Collection (1990) is a just mere skimming of some of the masterpiece productions that propelled and catapulted her into world-wide recognition and acclaim with critics. Her shrewd choice of songs remains uncanny! Holiday, a nifty, distinctley early 1980's, up-tempo Pop classic was infact Madonna's second release, following her debut single, Everybody, which had steered into more club/dance trends of the day (and ... ...angelic delivery. The Immaculate Collection (1990) then highlights one of her early ballads with the beautiful, Crazy For You which still stands incredibly well today thanks to the sparse orchestrations and and exuberant performance from Madonna. It's then back into party mode with the happy-go-lucky, upbeat, Into The Groove which displays the raw, sassy, streetwise side to Madonna. However of more artistic value was the divine, hauntingly atmospheric ...

The Immaculate Collection is Madonna’s first, greatest hits collection. It was released in 1990. It contains 15 of her greatest hits since her career began in 1983 and has 5 UK number ones on it. The album itself takes you though a journey of Madonna’s early career from 1984-1991. It is arranged in chronological order. It has all the well known tracks that you would expect to find. Track1. Holiday
Holiday is about getting away from everyday life and enjoying life. It’s a really good party song and will guarantee people to get up and dance. Holiday was Madonna’s first top 40 hit, it was released in 1983 summer time. Madonna’s voice sounds very childish/girlie in this song.

...of the cassette. The Immaculate Collection is basically Madonna's greatest hits of the 80s, and features 17 tracks of consistently high quality. What is especially interesting about the album is that it charts the change in Madonna's sound from the almost helium-induced vocals of early hits like Holiday and Lucky Star to the beginnings of the style we came to know in the early 90s with songs such as Justify My Love. The album includes 5 UK No.1's ... ...given me hope".
The Immaculate Collection is a very comprehensive collection of Madonna's big early hits, although as a "greatest hits" album it does lack the cohesiveness of a studio album. But with all these songs, who cares? There are some tracks (eg. Dear Jessie) that could and maybe should have been included. It just goes to show the strength of Madonna's output - she can release an album such as this less than a decade into her career and ...

...So, onto The Immaculate Collection, then. Released in 1991, it is one of those select few albums that continues to sell in small but steady numbers over many years. It has sold over 2 million copies in the UK alone and showcases some of Madonna’s biggest hits between 1984 and 1991. Immaculate – containing no flaw or error
Could this have been what Madonna meant when she titled her album The Immaculate Collection? Or could it have been a play on words and bears meaning to the Immaculate Conception following her Catholic roots?

The Immaculate Collection is her greatest hits catalogue and it certainly does show off her wonderful and very consistent material. When you think of Madonna's music you probably think of three periods. The first being the eighties and early nineties which is covered by this CD, the second being the early to mid nineties when her musical direction was heavily criticised by the media for its sexual overtone, and the third being the late nineties where her music was once again embraced by the masses thanks to her hugely successful "Ray Of Light" album.
