A Tasty Sandwich
Review of In Nothing We Trust - Reuben by

Advantages: Epic, and much better than the last album.
Disadvantages: Still a few crumbs on their sleeve.
...for quite some time now in my room and on my iPod. BUT I will also tell you where it could do with some improvement...
First we have Cities on Fire. I first heard this track live when the gang were opening for Fightstar (grrr), and it was amazing. It was so amazing I forgot completely how it went, only knowing that it was amazing. I was so happy when I pressed play and this wonderfully epic, end-of-the-world song kicked off the new album. I can ...

In Nothing We Trust
Review of In Nothing We Trust - Reuben by

Advantages: Amazing for any reuben fan, and a huge improvement from the last release.
Disadvantages: A definite change in the overall direction of the music
...have been hard to pigeon-hole in terms of their style of music, to the point that it is easier to just describe as straight up rock and roll, but of their own style. Quick review of In Nothing We Trust - Reuben
Review of In Nothing We Trust - Reuben by

I thought that this album was lyrically very entertaining. Yes there are some tunes that sound a little "teen-angst", but the lyrics are well written and intelligent in terms of structure and linguistics, and maintain throughout a refreshing sense of satire, sarcasm and fun often absent in present day rock.
Racecar was a great album but was quite obvious, probably due to label pressure. Here, some tracks are far more accessible than others, but all are well written and composed; I'd rather a band write a few tracks that don't work for me personally, safe in the knowledge that they are pushing boundaries and taking risks, and this album does so to fantastic effect. It's progressive, brimming with ideas, and an essential purchase.

No Racecar, Very Fast, Mega Dangerous
Review of In Nothing We Trust - Reuben by
AlChancer
Advantages: Brilliant playing, some blinding songs.
Disadvantages: Lyrics or a lot of the songs seem silly and not thought out.
After being not very impressed at all with Reuben's second album Very Fast, Very Dangerous i was hoping to hear a brilliant record now that they have had time to sit back and write some songs without record label's telling them when and how. There are some brilliant songs on this album like Cities on Fire and Blood, Bunny, Larkhall and even the sweet Good luck.. But this album is not a Racecar. There are moments when hearing this album that i thought ...
