Advantages: No bad tracks, very original, well produced. Disadvantages: Nothing!!!
...tune, and great vocals. Similar in style to 'Hold Your Colour' (the track, not the album), and would be very good to see live.
Propane Nightmares - This one took a while to get used to, but the non-vocal part starting at 4:02 is fantastic, and a real club tune. Very memorable, and really shows how Pendulum have moved on as a band.
The Other Side - The vocals here are similar to those of Daft Punk's 'Digital Love', which is one of their best tunes ... ...of the more original songs in this album. The two other voices in this track are an example of how Pendulum is still the same band as it was a few years ago, using other voices in their tracks to improve it, and make their songs more unique!
9,000 Miles - My personal favourite on this album! If you liked 'Girl In The Fire' in Hold Your Colour, the chances are you will love this. It's one of the quietest tracks in the album, but along with a good ...

...saw Pendulum at Rock City in Nottingham and as they were promoting their new album, it influenced me to buy this. Despite the fact I didn't think it was the best gig, and they didn't ply the best song from them "Tarantula", I still enjoyed it that much that I felt I should go out and get this. 1. "Showdown" The opening to the album completely throws you off if you bought this album because you enjoyed the groups past work because it sounds like a ... ...by putting "9000 Miles" here in the tracklistings. **One Star**
2. "Different" The sound of the previous track is basically dragged through into this one. It seems as thoughuo the group have become lazy as the tracks sound so similar with a electronica beat with some rock vocals, which aren't all that good either). **One Star**
3. "Propane Nightmares" This track acted as their leading single, but it was the second to be relased, back in April, ...

Advantages: a clear recording and well mixed, some of the old pendulum is still there! Disadvantages: selling their integrity, the vocals piss you off so much..
Unfortunately, In Silico marks Pendulum's downfall whilst bringing disappointment to the world of Drum and Bass. I say this because after Pendulum's masterful debut album "Hold Your Colour", it seems that the Australian band have effectively become both corporate & mainstream and are willing to sell their integrity. It is evident in this album that Pendulum have tried and failed to create a soundtrack that incorporates parts of rock music and DnB, ... ...not help but dance to in their previous album.
That said, sure, In Silico isn't terrible, and it won't give you ear cancer. There are some decent melodies & tracks that are reminiscent of the band we all know and love. In addition, there are some parts of this album that remind me of MUSE's "Black Holes and Revelations". But this album is not going to go down in history like its predecessor.
Sadly, I think that the fact that we expected so much ...

...clearly used more tangible instruments in the creation of this great album.
As a drum and bass album I don't rate it at all as few of the tracks could ever pass for DnB, however as an experimental rock style I put it way up there.
I was lucky enough to see the band play this album live, and some of their performances were epic.
"Propane Nightmares" - what a tune, with enough of a tune to appeal to hardcore DnB fans, but lyrics to make it more ... ...to rave to, at home, in the car, more on the techno side that other tracks like "The Tempest".
My favourite - "Mutiny" - great beat, great tune and sampling the vocals from Hold your colour's "The Terminal".
I think this album i great for any fans who are willing to accept music that just sounds good for its own sake, not just it's genre's. ...

pendulum's second album- in silico is all the greatness of the first album but in some aspects is better. although there are less tracks on this album, the tracks contain for vocals, aswell as great background music and beat. especially as pendulum are becoming a 'fashion statement' i think they are more than that. their music could keep you entertained for hours upon hours. i recommend you buy the album, great value for money and great sounds. ...

...dry and generally meaningless but in this type of music you expect that.
To describe it is a Prodigy for the next generation is fair i think and this album really is a classic already.
The general feel of the tracks is similar, with one or two exceptions, the receipe being an acoustic start, heavy build up and powerful, low frequency repetitive and catchy taglines.
Since i've owned it, It's been on loop in my car CD player wowing my friends with ...

I advise no one to buy this album. Pendulum were once a good drum &bass band, now this new music is crap. It's not drum &bass more electro rock with a voice synthesizer in nearly every track which has ruined it. In my opinion now they have became to far comercialised, with breaking up from breakbeat kaos was the biggest mistake they ever did and i think they will regret it once they have lost most of their original fans :( ...

...is the drum n bass in this album? Unless I'm mistaken, one of the tracks on here is guitar based and could be classed as a rock song. Nothing against rock but if I wanted a rock song I'd have bought one. Annoying synthesizer most of the way through, half hearted feeble bass line when there is one at all. Average easy going album, just don't buy this album if you are a hard drum n bass fan. You will be very disappointed. It is a shame that Pendulum ...

this is some of the best drum and bass out there. however, it is not pendulum's best material. the best song on this album is granite. i would definitely recommend this to electronic and drum and bass fans but not so much to the techno fans. pendulum is amazing though, they have a truly addictive sound and every song is an extraordinary work of art, this album is an example of that. i recently went to one of their concerts and they are amazing live!! ...

...raving all over the place in a trance, but it just seems different./ The sounds seem smoother and better blended though, there aren't any real grinding bass line, But it's still fast, frantic stuff! If you loved the first album and other singles they put out, you have to listen to this! Its good, but not as good as previous efforts.
