...compilation album, (which it is). Incesticide still gives the feel of a proper LP. Each song is experienced in its roughest form, giving it a certain appeal of its own. The album's first three tracks are classic nirvana - starting with 'Dive', a mixture of pounding bass riff and heavy guitar harmony. This is probably my second favourite track from the album. Anyone expecting Nirvana's thrid album to be a carbon copy of nevermind, be prepared to be disappointed. 'Incesticide' is a collection of Rare B Sides and recordings that were mainly written before the release of 'Nevermind'. The reasoning behind this was for Nirvana to get rid of all its hang on fans that only love 'Smells Like Teen Spirit', the song which put Nirvana into the big time. Incesticide was Nirvana's third album, although I don't consider it a proper album. It was pieced together from BBC session recordings done for John Peel's and Mark Goodier's radio shows, and "B-sides, demo recordings and stuff never before available", as the sticker says. As i was wondering through hmv one day trying to find some new music for me to listen to i came acros this album "incesticide", after listening to this album, and other Nirvana albums, i realised this was , how should i say, the "root" of nirvana, after some studying i discoverd some of the tracks on the album , were played at there first ever gig, making this the most unique nirvana album,the lyrics that kurt cobain would put together,were very unique ... If people would actualy learn something about the artists they are listening to, they would realise that Incecticide was released simply to display a list of rare Nirvana songs that at that time no one had heard. Still there are rare Nirvana songs that were never released which to fans are priceless. There are many albums put together as tributes, some which contain these songs. Ah, dear sweet Nirvana, i have listened to them countless times, and i have to say they have proved invaluable. nirvanas incesticide is the low point in an otherwise decent output from the scruffy threesome. Bleach was grunge 101,nevermind made them their millions and sealed their fate,in utero was the answer to nevermind and unplugged was their epitaph. incesticide is just a cash in from sub pop/geffen and generally is a load of old greasy grungey toss.made up of BBC sessions,singles covers etc.There is an early Lithium number in Sliver and the various ... Incesticide by Niravana is just basically a whole load of B-sides. It's not nearly as good as nevermind, but a lot of the tunes are still really quite annoyingly catchy. This was the first Nirvana album I bought, and I found that most of the songs just merged into one another- it's definately lacking something. This album was issued back in 1992 in between Nevermind and In Utero. A collection of B-sides, demos etc. it may not be up to the standard of Nevermind and Unplugged but still has the odd excellent including "Dive" and "Son of a gun".
