Incunabula was the first album released by Autechre in 1993. As an interesting side note, Incunabula means "swaddling clothes" in Latin. Sean Booth and Robert Brown, a.k.a Autechre, are true masters of electronica. Much like Richard Devine, Mira Calix, Datach'i, Venetian Snares and Squarepusher, these guys expand the clichéd genres of I.D.M (Intelligent Dance Music) and electronica in general. Disadvantages: not as experimental as other ae releases

...or labelmate Aphex Twin, but Incunabula still stands out as being both good dancefloor material and equally pleasant listening, and not simply new-age hash with a backbeat. I bought this album recently and I really really REALLY enjoyed listening to it. Previously I had heard it at one of my friends house and didnt really get into it. Couldn't concentrate with all the chat going on. Later that week my friend played me one track from the album and that just convinced me to run out and get it from HMV.
