...amazing! So, the debut album Infest on what I’m meant to be writing about here. I am sitting here and I know of course every song off by heart. I’ve been to see Papa Roach live, got a poster of them on my wall and as I sit here writing, I wear a Papa-Roach T-shirt. However, I still think this will be a hard opinion to write. Advantages: Great Album
Disadvantages: Need to like Papa Roach, because all songs are the same style.

Papa Roach are an american band who play heavy metal, and rock music. The Album "Infest" is their first (and only) and that is what I'm going to be talking about. 1) "Infest". This track is a great track and I really like it. It starts with a very quiet buzz and gets louder, then suddenly some heavy chords are played. ...Lets have a look 1: Infest (4.08) The song/noise starts quietly then explodes with the singer (Corby Dick) shouting something I can’t make out. He then starts rapping (not very well either). The song itself is about brainwashing. They want to infest your mind with their ideas and thoughts. Its really not very good especially as it’s the title track from the album. Papa Roach came along and smashed in with the massive 'Last Resort' after maiing it big in the USA. I knew this and bought the album before there was an publicity or anything and I wasn't disappointed. Where 'Limp Bizkit' winge constantly and thw whiney voice of Fred Durst deserves nothing but mockery Papa Roach came in and made a space for themselves with tracks that clearly do have meaning for them. ...Papa Roach a week before Infest was released and have loved them ever since, given the opportunity I will be at Ozzfest just to see them! The Album opens with Infest, the name-sake of the album, and immediately lets you know what your in for, a fast ride of new age punk, Almost all of the songs have a deep moral undertone, a kind of self destructive one, but are still great fun to listen to, with name like Last Resort and Broken Home, what would ... Disadvantages: Unoriginal, Poor Lyrics, Weak

...P-Roach are apparently "Going to infest and get in your head". More proof that they are based on pop melodies? Last Resort: Deals with a sensitive issue but by no means is this a sensitive song. Perhaps the crudest and easiest guitar riff of all time, and terrible lyrics - "Don't give a f*ck if I cut my arm bleeding" Very much pop-based. Along with this album, I purchased Linkin Park – Hybrid Theory. I had more of Papa Roach through ‘Last Resort’ and was expecting Papa Roach to out do Linkin Park by a long way. However I was to be proven wrong. With the special edition silver boxed package available, I decided to go with that including the extra features. ...tracks, although all of the Infest CDs that I have seen have got these tracks on. By far the track on the CD with the widest appeal to the public is Last Resort, which is probably why they released it as a single, all of the other tracks are a little harder, and most of the public probably couldn’t handle them. Disadvantages: they are just jumping on the bandwagon

The metal genre is under attack, not from the usual opposition though like parents and people who listen to garage but from the roots of metal itself; America. The country that gave us bands like ‘Rage Against the Machine’, ‘AC/DC’ and ‘Korn’ has gone mad with producing moneymaking bands such as, ‘Mudvayne’, ‘Slipknot’ and ‘Linkin Park’. I have owned this album for quite a while, but after seeing them live last night I thought this was probably the best time to do a review about the album. This is actually the fourth album by the band, not a lot of people know that, however I do not think that the band were on a record label at the time, so Coby Dick (the lead singer) told us all last night to get on Napster and check out some of the early stuff. ...heard of p roach before infest but i hadn't heard any of their stuff so i was in for a big surprise. After listening to the first track you will be hooked if your not already after the release of 'last resort'. If that is the only track you have heard please take my word for it and buy it, borrow it, or just get that good friend of yours with the cd writer to copy it, because it is worth it. you will be impressed with their fresh but still familiar ...
