Inside In/Inside Out - Kooks

The Kooks formed in 2004 whilst at the Brighton Institute of Modern Music where they were all students. The band were signed instantly to Virgin Records after playing and impressing at Brighton's Free Butt Festival. Their fourteen track 'Inside In/Inside Out' album was consequently released in January 2006, an album from which six Top 40 singles were released. Inside In/Inside Out by Brighton originated indie-pop band The Kooks was first released in January 2006; it's still getting airtime on the radio here in the UK over two years later. No less than six of the fourteen tracks on the album achieved top forty status as singles in the UK charts; an impressive achievement for any album let alone a debut. It peaked at number two in the UK charts and did almost as well in both Ireland and Belgium as well. ...

...them could become great. But Inside In/ Inside Out by The Kooks stands head and shoulders above them. These Brighton group have a gift for original songwriting. Some of the tracks will make you nod your head and tap your feet in rhythym, others will make you grab two pens and beat out the accompanying percussion, and yet some others will have you hollering out the words (badly in my case) I'll be honest, I don't know the band memebrs names (yet!) ...
...of time before they are well known everywhere. On this evidence alone, this band can cut it. The best track on the album (and one of the best tracks I've heard all year!) is Naive. I challenge you to listen to that a few times and NOT singalong (humming counts as singing!!) The first album from the Brighton boys doesn't disappoint, Rock/pop at its best. Its an album Packed with great rock songs and catchy pop undertones. The album starts with a song titles seaside which is a slow melodic number that in no way shape or form sets the tone for the album however it shows how raw and full of emotion lead singer Luke Prichard's voice can be.
