Green Day were the first band I liked during my 'Crossover' from Rap to Rock. I loved how they'd sing just happy and merry songs yet have some of the deepest and most thought provoking lyrics. They're kind of a perfect middle between heavy-metal and soft rock, with a little bit of shouting in some songs, yet they'd maintain their cool and not go to overboard while shouting like maniacs. I love this album, I started listening to Green Day 2 years ago, so this album was well out by then.. It contains all their greatest tracks (as well as a few not so good ones) and as you listen to you will hear them as they progress and improve through their careers. Disadvantages: Only a 'Greatest Hits', rather than a real album.

Firstly, I'll start by saying that this IS NOT a true Green Day album, it's merely a collection of the best tracks from their early releases. As such, most fans will have no real reason to buy this, as they'll have heard all but two of the songs already. I bought this as a taster of the other albums by Green Day simply because I didn't want to go out and buy all of them. I think that the guys have done well in putting this collection together and it shows how their well written and wonderful lyrics can be expressed through amazing rock songs by the almighty Green Day.
