...like the group? Having seen JJ72 both live and on TV I had major concerns over this issue, bassist Hilary Woods positively smoulders. 'JJ72' is the debut album from the young indie band with the same name. JJ72 are a trio from Ireland. 20-year-old Mark Greaney is the guitarist, vocalist and songwriter. It must be said he has a very distinctive and great voice. Hilary Woods is the Basss player, and Fergal Matthews completes the line up on drums. Back in the year 2000 i went to Radio 1's 1 Big Sunday in Ipswich. Amongst the acts were Texas :), Muse :D, Emma Bunton :( , 5ive :S and an Irish 3 piece I had never heard of called JJ72. Well they did two performances and it was the best live performance i have ever seen. Oxygen especially just blew me away. So I bought the album JJ72. And I love it. Well I bought this album after having listened to 'Oxygen', 'October Swimmer' and 'Snow'. I felt that these tracks were quite refreshing and they brought new life to the indie/rock scene with their style. The voice of Matt Greany that can reach most notes that are immaginable serves as yet another good point to this album. It would be an exaggeration to say that this was timeless but it does have replay value. I particularly enjoy the slow song ... Read review

The new U2? Ireland's new musical hope? The Manics meets Coldplay? Whatever you think of JJ72, you WILL be aware of their presence. The vocals of young frontman, Mark Greaney, will have a simple effect on you; you will find him annoying, or you will love him. Billy Corgan beware- this boy can shout!! ...case for the dublin trio jj72 who are currently the indie rock scene's hottest new property. the soaring vocals of mark greaney means the listener is immediately swept away into to another level of conciousness, while the guitar solos could knock a man (or woman) dead at 100 paces. only one question remains...no not shall i buy it...but what does jj72 mean? ...
