good stuff Review ofJagged Little Pill - Alanis Morissetteby

Advantages: no bad songs Disadvantages: none
This is a great album. Even those who don't normally like this sort of music have to admit that this album really is great. Although Alanis Morrissette is always called moany and whiny I think the singing on this album is surreal. Everyone should own this. EVERYONE. With killer songs like "Ironic" and "You Learn" it's got something for everyone and everyone will be able to relate to the songs in some way or another. You can listen to it when you're ...

Advantages: Great for singing/shouting along to, very intense Disadvantages: Too much harmoninca!
This really must be one of the all time best CDs to play when you're in a really bad mood. Songs like "Right through you" and "Forgiven" are perfect if you're mad at someone, and there are also more reflective songs like "Mary Jane" and "Perfect" to listen to when you simply want something emotionally engaging. Alanis Morisette manages to put so much feeling into her songs that it is quite an experience listening to them, but they are not at all "soppy", ...

Advantages: Great stress release Disadvantages: Mary Jane let it down for me
Alanis Morissette's "Jagged little Pill"although gettin on a bit now as it was released in 1995.Its a pleasure to listen to, although your neighbours might not agree with you as you WILL find yourself screaming out the lyrics, they are THAT good! Is just one of those albums for all the scourned women out there. Its fantastically empowering and it didn't leave my CD player when I broke up with my ex. Its harsh and frank lyrics cut deep, but dont depress. Its ...

Advantages: a must have in everyones collection on cd's Disadvantages: can get boring after 100 times listening in a row, hehehehe
This is just th etip of the ice-berg for alanis, her music is great and with this album it just gets better. Is there nothing that this woman cant sing? She is a lyrical genius and her vocal range is well used in this album. I honestly thought that I heard the best of her music until I picked up this album. Definitely a must have and must buy. Good for value and will get your toes tapping and your heart punding at every beat. There is so much more ...

Advantages: Every song is amazing, there is not one bad track on the whole album. Disadvantages: If only it were longer!
Alanis was born in Ottowa, Canada in 1974. She has always wanted to entertain and that is exactly what she does on this album. She pours out all her emotions on all the tracks of this album. From the first single "You Oughta Know", to the song about her Catcholic upbringing, "Forgiven" and the humerous hit "Ironic", the album takes you on a rollercoaster ride through rok/pop heaven. I reccomend it to anyone who likes soft rock/pop because this album ...

Advantages: Genuine emotion through every track Disadvantages: none
Very seldom is there an album produced as genuine an expression of pure emotion and soul as this classic. From the tenderness of "Mary Jane" to the bitter, agressive "You Oughta Know", with tracks like "Perfect" and "Forgiven" giving an insight into the artist's upbringing. Every single track on this album, yes, EVERY SINGLE TRACK, has something valuable to say through its lyrics, brings a touching, full on experience through its music.
A classic, ...

Advantages: Bonus track, good music Disadvantages: none
Alanis is back, and how. The dance star from way back when had crawled out of her shell and is making her own music now. And what music it is! Rough, in-your-face, and all that with a voice that manages to be innocent and knowing at the same time. The a capella bonustrack, hidden at the end of the album after some silence, is one of my favourites. She doesn't need guitars, she doesn't need the harmonica: she can be sad and poignant all by herself. ...
