I was sitting watching Glastonbury on the box, when Kelis began to sing. I wasn't too sure about buying the album before this- but watching her sing made up my mind and I went out and brought it. The beginning track was a bit off putting- you know a interlude- intro. and I left it playing and suddenly Mafia began to play- what a great song!!! a bit of EnVogue, a bit Destinys Child and unique- and I sat down and listened to the album and now I'm hooked!! Advantages: Novelty record!
Disadvantages: Novelty wears off quickly

I think I bought this single just for the novelty of it - a girl screaming 'I hate you so much right now' on record. I don't particularly like this kind of music anyway - I suppose that's why I don't really like the B-side 'Suspended' which i find instantly forgetable (unlike Caught Out There which is rather hard to forget). The remix - 'Neptunes Extended Mix' is just that - an extended version of the song ie. a few more choruses added on to the end. ... Read review

This is the debut album from Kelis, produced by Pharrell Williams and Chad Hugo, containing the singles 'Good Stuff' and 'Caught Out There.' It wouldn't be pushing it too far to say that virtually all the tracks on the record are of the calibre of these singles. Kelis is a very good singer, sort of Macy Gray with more beat and a better voice. She is very outrageous and very good. The album cover is very bright, hence the name of the album, and so is the actual CD - Bright green. There are 14 tracks on this album but I normally stop listening at number 9 because the second half is lacking the first halfs quality. If you like any of Kelis's singles that have been released so far in the UK then you will like this album. It includes the debut hit from this talented start Good Stuff. Kelis does have her own unique style and that is widely present in this album. The tracks vary from upbeat songs such as good stuff to more dramatic songs with a more hardcore beat. If you wanna have a dance with the porno then this is the album you need to be playin! Not only can Kelis sing, but she is so full of life and fun that it shows in her songs. In fact I'm wiggling my bootie right now just thinking about songs like 'Good Stuff'.
