The album was released in February 1978 and followed the single's path to the top of the charts, going on to become one of the year's most popular releases and demanding the attention ...

Advantages: She'll keep you well entertained! Disadvantages: Some songs may be a bit rough.
Kate released 'The Kick Inside' in 1978 way before I was born. Looks like I missed out the most greatest opportunity to rush out and buy this album!! This album is outstanding infact. This is the type of music I would like to see out in the charts. Unfortunately times have changed and we get more teeny boppers taking club music and awful pop music to the top of the charts. None of it is hardly sensational. Seems like the same old thing every week. ...

Advantages: Beautiful songs, thoughtful lyrics, amazing voice Disadvantages: A couple of weaker pieces
...album for any artist "The Kick Inside" is a remarkable effort for an 18 year old. Combining as it does mature lyrics, beautiful melodies and an otherworldly quality it heralded the arrival of a major talent on the British music scene. Kate Bush was discovered at fifteen by Dave Gilmour of Pink Floyd fame. Contracted to EMI they kept her under wraps for three years while she developed her voice, dance and mime skills and honed her music. Many of the ...

...most astonishing fact concerning "The Kick Inside "is that it was written and performed by an 18 year old girl, who had never made a record before ,think about that for a minute then transform that circumstance to todays reality pop fodder full of 18 year old girls who could barely play the recorder ,seen from that perspective "The Kick Inside " is a monumental achievement and a worthy start to a much deserved long and credible career ...

When you heart the opening strangled seagulls (echoes of Pink Floyd's "Echoes") that introduce you to "Moving" you know you're in for something different. This is a work of great beauty, and everyone who knows the album has their own favourites but it is a total aural delight.
The album spawned several singles, "Wuthering Heights", "The Man With The Child in His Eyes" (apparently written when she was 14) ...

The style is very similar for this entire album (released in 1978), and is true early Bush, she was only a teenager after all. EMI invested in her from an early age, recognising her talent. It is obvious now that they made an invise investment, and you should invest in this album if you want to hear what KB came from, to eventually evolve and produce the album Aerial.

...release.
Particular highlights include "The Kick Inside", "Feel It"( one of the most erotic songs ever written) and the utterly fabulous "Wuthering Heights".
Kate Bush has never once bowed to convention and has never sounded like anyone else on earth - and that should be valued.
One of my favourite albums. ...

This is a powerful debut album. It contains many gems from Kate, many of which were written in her early to late teens. Discovered and helped by David Gilmour of Pink Floyd fame who went on to produce this album. It opens with the haunting 'Moving' which ends to the sound of whales singing as it drifts into 'Saxaphone song'. Kate has had a very theatrical upbringing which is portrayed all through her career and none more so than on tracks like 'Man ...
