Advantages: Etherial Disadvantages: Have to get into it
...I wasn't too impressed with Kid A after the long wait, but after listening to it five or so times, I just didn't want it to end. The Album tells the story of (suprisingly) 'Kid A', the world's fist cloned person, and starts off with the haunting 'Everything in its right place', showing the imperfection in the cloned baby's perfection, and right through to the Angelic noise that ends the gasping, 'Motion Picture Soundtrack', the music is very intense.
... ...one, but none so much as 'Idioteque', which is just electronic instruments and Thom Yorke, but never has such a simple track seemed so deep.
Remember, that whatever your friends tell you, you this Album was the first to make its Artist no. 1 in both the UK and USA for its Artist. So don't take their word for it - buy it and See for yourself.
P.S. - You either understand the inlay or not! ...

Advantages: well-thought out sound Disadvantages: none
...on jazz made weird. Kid A's slow, plodding, atmospheric sound opens the mind like a ripe fruit. Openings and closings are what Kid A's all about, the piece moves like theatre until the final curtain. The backbeats are great and the swooning, swelling guitars move you to the point where you'll have to watch out if your listening to this and driving. The sense of alien isolation that permeates the album, the bleak lyrics, that sometimes rage, sometimes ... ...a car, a drive with Kid A becomes a rocket ride to an alien planet and the journey back. York's voice will haunt you. It'll follow you around when you turn the player off. You'll wake up and you'll hear it in your head and understand the grief in his voice, and understand the emotion in his heart. There are moments when you listen to a fine vocal track that you can feel the singer's attempt at communion with the listener on a more profound level. ...

Advantages: Brave new experimental direction from the Radiohead lads. Disadvantages: Difficult to get into at first, competely different to OK Computer.
...genius of tracks such as Kid A and How to Disappear Completely will slowly become apparent on repeated listens. ---Pick of The Bunch---
First track Everything in its Right Place is an intriguing track driven by synthesised keyboards. The vocals of singer Thom Yorke have been sampled and warped to create a pretty trippy intro track that draws you into the album.
National Anthem is a roaring fuzz bass monster accompanied by some of the eeriest trumpeting ... ...and the song slowly reaches a crescendo, with the organ being replaced by some beautiful strings near the end. A superb track to end the album with.
I strongly feel that Kid A is a criminally underrated album, if not quite up to the high standards of Ok Computer. ...

Advantages: Very Rewarding and introduces many people to a new genre Disadvantages: Perhaps too Short and alienated many of their fans
...near it, the beauty of Kid A, is that it divides views like no other album has done for a long time. Theres a good chance you will find a review that hammers it, this reviewer will do the complete oppostie, like many other Critics who loved this electronic piece. It has a nice beat to it but the robotic voice doesnt really suit the song, its messy. On with some of the catchier parts of the album and the two songs that follow are certainly that, National Anthem is quality and has a brilliant bassline, How to Dissapear Completely is beautiful, not my words, Thom Yorke's, who recentley said that is his favorite song. ...described as a roasting!
Admittedly, Kid A is one hell of a departure from The Bends
and even OK Computer, but surely a band must develop.
Musically this contains some of Radioheads greatest musical
moments, and they're not afraid (and are able) to do pretty
much what they want.
If you want guitar riffs and singles, forget it!
This is the sound of a band creating and reinventing themselves

Advantages: Completely original, brave, atmospheric sounds Disadvantages: People will only like it if they give it a chance and don't expect it to be the same as their other albums
After months and months of waiting for this album's release, I was finally able to buy it on 2nd October 2000. I had heard some of the new stuff at a recent live concert in London, and I thought that it was superbly original. I don't know how they do it, but Radiohead seem to be the only band that can, time and time again, come out with completely new material. All the people who have given this album a poor review are not open-minded enough. Given ... ...that my opinion is biased because I saw them do it live, but I honestly believe that this album superceeds 'OK Computer'. Its new and original sounds partnered with Thom Yorke's haunting vocals make for a fantastic, atmospheric outcome. The only track that has failed to win me over so far (bearing in mind that I only got the album yesterday) is 'Treefingers', which just sounds like an interval between nine other fabulous tracks. My personal favourite ...

Advantages: It's Radiohead, as good as they have always been Disadvantages: none
Kid A is better than I could have possibly expected. As a fan of quality electronic music aswell as of Radiohead's previous three albums it was easier to appreciate than I imagine it would be for a closed minded rock fan. The album delivers for me on every possible level, the moments of soaring and powerful emotion (How to Disappear completely) are equal to anything in radiohead's back catalogue, yet this has been combined with a completely fresh ... ...conventional song structure for a less predictable approach which shows just how far radiohead have come. They have moved on rather than remain stale, without losing any of the things which made them great in the first place. Radiohead were always a great band, but Kid A makes them greater. ...

...appearing on their new album, Kid A, which is out sometime at the start of October (2nd or 3rd, I think).
I have to say, at first they weren't really to my liking. The songs are more influenced by people like DJ Shadow and are more dance orientated (there's even some sampling going on in places). I started to wonder what my beloved Radiohead had been smoking.
However, now I have listened to the songs more and more, the more the songs have grown ... ...they have evolved. They are now super Radiohead, Kid A era Radiohead. For those who haven't heard any of the new stuff, I beg you to give it a try when you do. Please don't be put off at first. Because, after all, it's still Radiohead and Radiohead are great! ...

KId A is the 4th album from Radiohead. The band have set themselves immpossibly high standards with their previous releases with their own blend of melodic guitar driven rock. Other bands would be content with writng the same album 4 times and putting a different cover on the front but Radiohead are continually evolving. Kid A has hardly got a guitar in it in fact.
Kid A sounds more like a soundtrack to a film than a conventional album.
Radiohead ... ...I think that their bravery has paid off. It is a really good album (although it took me a few listens to get into it) with my favourite tracks being "Everything In Its Right Place", "Optimistic" and "Discotheque".
I dont think it will be to everyones taste but everyone should give it a chance ...

...official release date for Radioheads Kid A is 2nd October, however, if like me you can't wait that long you can download it off Napster. Radiohead have once again matured thier sound to bring another great sounding set of more melow tracks. Kid A has obviously evolved from Ok computer but has a much different sound. ...adventourous work, their 'White Album', Kid A. While I praise this Album in such a way it would not be right to assume it is for everyone. It certainly takes a bit of time to get used to and I know some people who think it's unaccesable and monotonous. However Thom Yorke shows us again why Radiohead are the best band around. His wailing vocals coupled with swirling guitars and synthesisers create an atmosphere unlike any i've ever heard. Particularly ...

Advantages: Wonderful at times Disadvantages: Not utterly convincing
2nd of October 2000 - Judgement Day. Are Radiohead going to be remembered as one of the greatest bands of all time or are they going to fade away? Unforunately this album does neither conform their status nor dispel it. There are moments of brilliance, of genius, but then again there are moments which simply do not work. Some of the intial tracks sound as though someone has been let loose on a synthesiser and pressed buttons seemingly at random. ... ...love of old shine through. "Optimistic" and "How to dissppear completely" could have been on The Bends. Most of the critics will say that it's different, and not commercially viable, which is probably true, but when were Radiohead ever a commercial band? Radiohead fans should byu this album, but keep an open mind, it's not like anything they or anyone has ever released before. Non radiohead fans who fancy something a little different should also ...

Advantages: Great music and quality Disadvantages: Treefingers is a bad song
If you like bands like blur, oasis and radiohead (indie music) then you will love this great CD. Every track but one (treefingers) will be a classic. Everything in its right place is a very good song as is Idioteque, The NAtional Anthem and Morning Bell. This is a must have for indie fans and for people who like all types of music in my opinion. Also inside the CD there is a great list of thoughts from the band Radiohead itself and this a great feature ...

Advantages: Great new sounds Disadvantages: Not as catchy as some other Radiohead stuff, (yet)
I managed to resist downloading Kid A of Napster and today, on its release day, I went out and brought it. Popped it in and wasn't really surprised. Radiohead have taken different directions with all their previous albums and this one is no different. Weighing in at just under 50 minutes, the album is filled with strange sounds, shrill vioces and simple electronic sounds. Fans from the Bends era may not like it at first because of the back seat role ... ...distinctive vioce more than make up for this. Songs such as The National Anthem will probably take a while to get into, as with most of Radiohead's other work but tracks like How To Disappear Completely and Idioteque, I immediately became fond of. There isn't the hum along melodys that we experience on early tacks such as High And Dry and Creep but there is certainly somehting for every Radiohead album on the new album.
