Advantages: fabulous mixture of passion, emotion and anger

I have all four Korn album's, and I think that in many ways this is their best. Probably the heaviest album, it all kicks off with the low slung, grinding riff of 'Blind'. From here on classic songs just pile up. Jonathan davis deals with issues many artists would shy from, and his lyrics are shockingly powerful without being perverse or overly controversial. Korn’s first album has some of what I regard as their best songs on. Tracks like Blind, Predictable, Shoots and Ladders for example. Unfortunately there are also plenty of songs of dubious quality on the album. Don’t get me wrong – they’re not dire, but compared to the quality of songs across some of the other albums, Issues for example, it’s disappointing (Depending on the order you buy the albums in I suppose). Korn's self titled debut album released in 1994, can easily be heralded as one of the most inspirational albums of all time. In fact, it is arguable the album is so good that the band have spent the rest of their career trying to make anything half as credible. ...class this as my top KoRn album, it's a classic especially as it's their first album and a must for any KoRn fan. After saying all that I would say it is not a very accessible album, and definitely takes a few listens. I'm not sure how much this would appeal to fans of the newer stuff because as I've said it's completely different style of music and very unique. ...it more commercially acceptable but Korn gave us the raw materials. It's loud, heavy and agressive. From Jonathon Davis' warcry of "Are you ready?" you know that if you aren't strapped down, you are in severe danger of causing spontaneous moshpits. Korn gave us a remedy to the late and somewhat bloated Seattle scene and the album has aged well, "Blind" being akin to "Smells Like Teen Spirit" in its ability to always get a crowd moving. This album is the reason I started listening to Metal, and made me appreciate it so much more. Vocalist Jonathan Davis, really knows how to get your attention, and make you feel the pain he went through as a child. Fast heavy progressive metal, with vocals that will blow your mind. Korn are the real originators of nu-metal and their extremely unique style of music has an attraction to it for any hard music fan. When KoRn were formed back in 1990, they had no clue that they would become the metal legends they are seen as today. This untitled album is a fantastic demonstration of why they have acheived this desirable status.
