Advantages: a little known gem Disadvantages: a short album, over too quickly!
In a break from convention, I'm not going to do a track by track listing of this album. It's just not that sort of album. It's got individual songs on it, but they mesh together and interweave so seamlessly, and each song is so difficult to categorise or explain, that to try and talk about each song would make even less sense than what I have just written....
I bought this album a few years ago after hearing a snatch of a single song from it, and ... ...heard. I like it when that happens.
Jo Bartlett and Danny Hagan are "It's Jo and Danny". Their sound is like nothing you will have ever heard before. A bit indie, folkish, experimental, funky, laid back, groovy, and most other words you can think of really.
They love music and love sounds - they spent several hours when making this this album throwing rocks at an empty oil drum to try and get the perfect sound for one part of one song. Alongside ...
