Believe me, I want to hate Shakira ("woman full of grace") for being so beautiful, slim and successful (I take comfort in the old pictures of her!). It's just that there's something endearing about her lyrics. Advantages: Great combination of English and South Americans music
Disadvantages: A bit too much pop

Please excuse the title, it's a bit of a theme. Anyhow, Shakira, is a musical artist, she has a good deep soulful voice, plenty of kick and vitality. Despite having a deep voice, she is more than capable of reaching those high notes when she has to. Shakira is a very beautiful and talented young woman. At first you may think she looks like any other pop star but when you hear her deep vocals, you can't help but be in awe. Originally from abroad, she brought out the smash hit single 'whenever wherever' in the UK that made even the most boring of people toe tap. Disadvantages: Not enough of her Colombian heritage in the music.

...That said, I didn't like Laundry Service at all, except for Whenever, Wherever (Suerte), and one of the ballads. It's Shakira's attempt to "cross-over" and fit into "American" culture. However, she just ends up sounding like a bad clone of Alanis Morissette (whom I like). I appreciate cultural diversity and/or good music - this album lacks both. ...I looked through this Shakira- laundry service album it didn't looked so attractive, but when I listened all the songs, I changed my mind, because it is really great.
