Led Zeppelin II sees the greatest band of all time expanding on the crushing heavy blues of their debut. This was the album that turned Jimmy Page's 1968 one-album studio supergroup (Page, Robert Plant, John Bonham & John Paul Jones) into a bone fide stadium act, topping the US album charts and setting them on course to become the most revered, and yes sometimes the most reviled, hard rock act in music history. Whilst of course still relying heavily ... ...a spacier sound on many of these tracks increases their appeal greatly. Mind you before the sound gets too spacey Page lets rip another power chord to bring things back into line.
Whilst overall this is one of the very best albums in the genre, it does have a slightly strange running order. The crush of Whole Lotta Love nestles uneasily next to the meandering bass of What Is And What Should Never Be; John Bonham's worship at the altar of skin Moby ...

Advantages: Heaven is a Jimmy Page solo. The lryics are something else, political correctness be damned Disadvantages: Only nine tracks and forty minutes. I don't like drum solo's much
Led Zeppelin II was released on October 22, 1969, around the same time as the Beatles' 'Abbey Road' and represented a seamless changing of the old guard to the new driving force in music with this, their follow-up to their debut album, Led Zeppelin. With this album, the band distanced themselves ever so slightly from their blues roots, and adopted a more mainstream, commercial style, though slightly more raucous than anything else out there. That ... ...uncharacteristic piece of music for Led Zeppelin. The song is peppy and upbeat, almost "light", which is very unusual for the 'kings of heavy'. It's a song about a woman who sleeps around and uses the men in her life.
"Alimony, alimony payin' your bills,"
"Livin', lovin', she's just a woman."
"When your conscience hits you, knock it back with pills."
"Livin', lovin', she's just a woman."
A short but sweet classic.

This is the second led zeppelin album and was released on 22nd of October 1969 under Atlantic records. In my opinion this is the best album they have done before I start talking about the album I will give you a little information about the band. Formed in the summer of 1968 led zeppelin consisted of the following members...

Guitar-jimmy page
Bass guitar- john Paul Jones

jimmy page was the member that put ... ...yard birds and then becomes led zeppelin. The name come from the who drummer Keith moon who was asked how he thought the band would do and replied "they'll go down like a led zeppelin" and the rest as they say was history.

...to propose a vote for Led Zeppelins’ Whole Lotta Love’.
Used for many years as the intro music for BBCs Top Of The Pops this is one of the greatest songs of all time. After these the monopoly would still seem to be with Led Zep think Rock’n’Roll or Kashmir.
It comes from the bands second album somewhat unoriginally titled Led Zeppelin 2. I was still at school when Led Zeppelin burst onto the scene and for years I was hooked ... ...This cannot be said of Led Zeppelin 2 though. Whole Lotta Love is worth the price of the album alone and defined them as the greatest exponents of guitar rock’n’roll. However they did not confine themselves to making albums filled with rock and each album had blues and melodic soft rock as well.
Whole Lotta Love is no soft song though and is a song about sex. It is erotic rock aimed at seducing the listener. The lyrics and vocals spell ...

...back to the Sixties, when Led Zeppelin - so named because an early critic predicted (wrongly) that they would "fall like a Lead Zeppelin" - were about to release their second album - the debatably correctly titled "Led Zeppelin 2".
My friend Henry introduced me to this album about two months ago, and since then it has barely left my CD player. It starts brilliantly, with the majestic "Whole Lotta Love", which features such lyrical gems as "Swing ... ...the lemon, of course - and the triumphant Moby Dick.
All in all, it's a stunning album. If you think IV is good, you'll be amazed by this, which is, in my opinion, Led Zepp's best album. As has been said many times, music would be different without them. ...

Everybody knows Led Zeppelin as one of the best rock 'n roll bands ever. And, in my opinion, Led Zeppelin II is one of the best albums ever made. It has the popular rockers like "Heartbreaker" and "Whole Lotta Love," but probably my favorite song is "Bring it on Home" (last track of the album). This song is just amazing. When I bought the album (when i was 13) I just wanted to hear the popular stuff, but "Bring it on Home" truly made me a Zephead. ...

...their name, sink like a Led Zeppelin. Thankfully they came up with this masterpiece and went on to be the best rock act ever. Track by track this is a masterclass in great rock songs.
The album opens with the legendary Whole Lotta Love. More recently the riff has been butchered to make the disgrace that is the totp theme. It has also been covered by Goldbug but their version too failed to live up to the original. Anyway the song itself doesnt have ... ...think that the listener should stand for a several minute drum solo. But this song just proves that Bonzo was a drummer with no equal. Apart from Keith Moon.
Anyway this is a better album than Led Zeppelin 4 but this album is bettered in the magnificent Physical Graffitti. ...

Advantages: Musicality, Drumming, Guitar Solos, etc. Disadvantages: No One.
Led Zeppelin II is the second album released by the English rock band Led Zeppelin in 1969. The album was recorded during a hectic and much-traveled period of the band's career from January through August 1969, when they completed four European and three American concert tours. Each song was separately recorded, mixed and produced at various studios in the UK and the U.S. Some of the recording studios utilised by the band were far from state-of-the-art. ... ...It has been suggested that Led Zeppelin II largely writes the blueprint for 1970s hard rock. Blues-derived songs like "Whole Lotta Love", "Heartbreaker", "The Lemon Song" are now standards of the genre, where the guitar-based riff (rather than vocal chorus or verses) defines the song and provides the key hook. ...

The second album was recorded during the bands 1969 tour. The recording sessions were fragmented over a variety of locations. Page produced this album well and the end result sounds very coherent. "Whole Lotta Love" was based on a Willie Dixon song "You Need Love". Robert Plant emerged as the groups lyricist with the dreamy "What Is And What Should Never Be", and the love song "Thank You" and the Tolkien inspired "Ramble On". Moby Dick is one of ...
