Advantages: The charisma of Emily Haines, half the songs Disadvantages: The other five songs, the lyrics are really hit-and-miss
There are three women who sing with Broken Social Scene, and it could easily be argued that the finest of them all is Feist. However, I would also point out that Amy Millan is a superb singer, adding a delicacy to any song she performs on. Yet then again, Emily Haines has the charisma to take both of these wonderful singers and climb all over them on her way to the spotlight. She doesn't get much to do with Broken Social Scene, but every song she ... ...when you team her up with a group of good ol' Canadian boys who like nothing more than to ramp up the volume on their electric guitars and really jam out, surely this would result in one of the best pop-punk albums of this (or any) generation? On the basis of "Live It Out", these is a lot of work still to be done if the band are ever to make good on their obvious potential.

Advantages: Guaranteed to make you dance Disadvantages: Some tracks are not as good as others
Live It Out is the second album from the Canadian electro-rockers. It sticks to the same sexy and sultry style as their previous album Old World Underground Where Are You Now, which in this case isn't necessarily a bad thing. Album opener Empty is fantastic, the start is slow, calm and relaxing however builds up producing a much heavier chorus. Rather than being designed to chill you out, as you may originally think, it's more encouraging you to ... ...two tracks, Ending Start and Live It Out, seem to be more 'fillers' in order to make the album longer. When listening to the album I felt that all the best tracks were placed at the beginning, and I didn't think the last two had been given the same amount of attention as the other tracks.
However, I do think that this is a fantastic album. It may take a couple of listens for you to really enjoy it, but I would recommend it for anyone. Metric really ...
