Advantages: Polished & mature
Disadvantages: No Mike Barson
Well, "no good" is a little harsh.
This is a mature, polished album, but it is also a little laboured, and a little tired, almost you are able to tell a piece of work by a band a little bored of what they are doing & needing a break.
"Yesterdays Men" strangely prophetic as this was Madness' final album before all the Madstock & comebacks..
To be honest, it all ended when Barson left.

Good Finish

Advantages: Great album before they split....(first time)
Disadvantages: None
This album is Madness' last before they originally split up in 1986. The album is actually one of their better ones, and I would say it is only beaten by the original One Step Beyond. There are some great songs here such as Burning the Boats, Uncle Sam, Yesterdays Man and Sweetest Girl.
The album is completely stamped with the Madness style throughout and for any fan of the group they won't be disappointed. It does lack the raw edge of One Step ...
