...about the band for you. Mad season, this is their second album, which I got for Christmas. I have to be honest, at first when I heard it I didn't find it as good as their first album ('Yourself or someone like you') but once I heard their single 'If You Are Gone' in one of the music channels it inspired me to play the whole album again... and again! My title wasn’t meant to be rude but I am getting more and more disillusioned by the UK music scene and industry. Here we have a soft rock band that could potentially take the UK by storm but they are never marketed in this country! They come to the UK as part of a very small European tour and “do” three venues! If it weren’t for the fact that just by chance a CD belonging to BJEEE got stuck to my nasty grubby little fingers, I probably would not know about Matchbox Twenty. ...UK. Umm marketing maybe. Anyway, Mad Season is a great album. I think the sound is more mature than "Yourself Or Someone Like You." As usual, the lyrics are good and there isnt a bad song on the album. Personally, Mad Season, Bent, Crutch and You Wont Be Mine are the best songs on it. This CD is absolutely excellent. It is even better than `Yourself or Someone Like You`, although that is also excellent. Every song here is great so it would be impossible to choose a favourite track. All of the songs are catchy - in a good way. I haven`t stopped listening since I bought this and I`m sure that it will be living in my CD player for quite some time. "Mad Season" is Matchbox 20's most recent release and is brilliant. Many catchy tunes, brilliant chorus's make an absolute stonker of an album. By far, the best tracks on this album are "Bed of lies" And "Last Beautiful Girl". This album is very catchy and makes you think about the lyrics rather than just letting the sound flow over you like a background noise. Disadvantages: Virtually unknown talent

The latest album from Matchbox twenty is even better than the fanastic 'yourself or somebody like you'. Most of the tunes have more pace then the previous album but the excellent lyrics are still there. The songs are about real emotion and you can feel that and get caught up even more with a catchty chourus. The best songs here are the wonderful 'last beautiful girl', 'weak' and 'reststop'. Rob Thomas, the lead singer of Matchbox 20, penned all of the songs; he is,without question, one of today's most talented songwriters. Mathbox 20 started with a great album that all soft rock fans had to like. It contained songs like 'Push' and 'Real World'. Its ashame that even after writing these songs they still haven't got much recognition. Now even though Rob Thomas (lead singer0 played with one of the greatest guitarists of all time, Santana, their band still does not have the respect it bloody well deserves. I was inspired to buy this album after hearing the US chart topper 'Bent'. If you like 'bent', then you will almost certainly enjoy this treat of american rock, with a little bit of pop thrown in for good measure. What makes this album so good is rob thomas's wonderful vocals. This man has such distinctive vocals and coupled with the band's ear for a melody and sharp lyrics, it makes the perfect combination.
