...at the end of the Matrix film. The screaming of ‘wake up’ at the end seems to round off the track and the soundtrack nearly too nicely! "How long? Not long, ‘cos what you reep is what you sow…" Good or what?
The inlay gives you some details about the songs, and some great pictures from the film. The CD has a nice covering, those green lines from the film. Going down Neo's computer screen...I have the screensaver of that too!
... ...I have ever been privileged to listen to, and I would advise all rock and dance fans to check out this album because of its supremecy over any other compilation CD, and with its great variety and constant great beats, you have got to think about it! Buying it at Woolworths (there goes my street cred as a rock-loving teenager) for eight pounds (six of which were vouchers :- ) ) was well worth the buy, as I had always promised myself that I would buy ...

Advantages: some brilliant tracks, LOUD Disadvantages: it threatens to all go a bit samey half way through
...hollow movie by some, the Matrix is the one movie that I must have watched more than any other film. The special effects may have made the movie in a major part, but I always felt the soundtrack was something else that made this movie stand out so well. Tracks such as Minefields and Wake Up(Prodigy and Rage against the Machine respectively) are instantly recognisable as you will doubtlessly remember them from the film itself, but perhaps these tracks ... ...free cd (said it had matrix movie) to my disappointment it didn't. But now I have the album so it doesn't matter does it? The last track used on the movie(when Neo flies into the sky) and exceptionally cool. another stand out track, and probably my second favourite, after Rob D. Verdict:
Well, did I bore you? If I did, then I apologise now. Sorry. After a promising start this album almost loses it in the middle by beginning to sound a bit samey. ...

A Good Mixture for the Matrix
I thought the film 'The Matrix' was the best film of 1999. It mixed great fight scenes with thought-provoking philosophy.
The Soundtrack album is great and definitely well suited to the film. It is a mixture of music from the film and music inspired by it. Some of the tracks are fast dance music (2 Spybreak!, 5 PrimeAudio Soup), some are calmer (4 Clubbed to death), and some just sound angry (1 Rock is Dead, 12 Du ... ...tracks:
1. Marilyn Manson ‘Rock is Dead’ – This track, as with much of Manson’s work, sounds heavy and the lyrics are angry.
2. Propellerheads ‘Spybreak!’ – This track accompanies some of the fight scenes. It is very much dance music and is quite repetitive as it has no vocals.
3. Ministry ‘Bad Blood’ – Bad Blood sounds stranger than the first two with its screechy start and loud bass.

Advantages: monster riffs Disadvantages: a bit too drum'n'bass for some perhaps
Having only seen bits of the Matrix, I can't really tell you how it compares to the music used in the film, but purely as a compilation, this album is amazing. It is taken from two main categories of music, metal and drum'n'bass. Unfortunately, drum'n'bass isn't usually my thing, but some of the tracks on here from that category are outstanding, such as the Meat Beat Manifesto track 'Prime Audio Soup'. The reason the album gels so well is the fact ... ...between some of them.
My favourite tracks on the album are mainly the metal tracks, no matter how much I try to love drum'n'bass. The main ones to look out for in my opinion are 'Dragula' by Rob Zombie, with his totally different twist on traditional metal; 'Rock is Dead' by Marilyn Manson, just because it's something of his usual style and worth listening to; 'Wake Up' by Rage Against The Machine, as they're an amazing band with huge riffs, and ...

...has NOTHING to do with MATRIX OST, because ANIMATRIX is whole different project. Although it grounds tastily in MATRIX, this one spins around Matrix's major plot. But we got to get down to its music. :) When I saw Animatrix for the first time I was stunned by its music. As a great fan of Japanese animation and instrumental tunes I just couldn't break away from its atmospheric and carefully chosen tracks. As in The Second Renaissance sequence, where ... ...Supermoves just rock. Human bodies ripped by androids with massively fast paced breakbeat puts you there :] Opening sequence Final Flight of the Osiris, screened by Wahowski Brothers and deveopled by Square Co. with Juno Reactor's Conga Fury during the action it's just impossible not to cling to! ...than a film. But is Matrix a simple movie or a sort of videogame?
Good sound, however.
3) BAD BLOOD – Ministry
Rock again, no real changes. Same melody from the beginning till the end. Exception: the end.
That kind of music is suited for a snowboard videogame like SSX.
Great song.
4) CLUBBED TO DEATH – Rob D

Advantages: The movie rocked, so does the S/T Disadvantages: nada..
Well, this is one compilation I'm glad I own, as many movie soundtracks have a few decent songs if you're lucky. This one on the other hand, is a hard rock lover's dream, this album features Marilyn Manson, Deftones, Rammstein, Rob Zombie, Rage Against The Machine.
Starting off with Marilyn Manson's "Rock is Dead", you think "this CD is pretty cool" then you look down the track listing and think, "oh yeah. This CD actually competes with the movie ... ...rock make this an interesting compilation, and the songs seem pretty well dispersed. The Prodigy track was very welcome, as I haven't heard any of their songs for a long time, and this was also the album that got me interested in the Deftones. I really like their track "My Own Summer" which is on this CD.
The Rage Against The Machine song at the end of the comp. was cool too, as it seems like a track which could finish an album.
The tracks have ...

The Matrix soundtrack has to be one of the best film sountracks ever! However you either love it or you hate it! The hard rock/ electronical
type music is as good as it gets although some tracks contain explicit
lyrics. It's a mix of extremely lively music and is a fanastic dance and party album. Some music on the album isn't actually on the Matrix Film as it is 'inspired' by it! Some tracks you won't recognize from the film as only a few parts ...

The Matrix sountrack is the best sountrack I have heard to this very day and is one of those cd's that once you buy it, it's impossible to stop listening. The first track is the amazing 'Rock is Dead' by the one and only Marilyn Manson taken from the 1998 album, Mechanical Animals. This is a brilliant opening and gets you in the mood for several more rock anthems. Also featured are the Deftones with 'My Own Summer' and Rage Against the Machine with ...

The Matrix soundtrack is simply awesome. I brought it having watch the video 20 times and loved the music. The soundtrack contains music from Rage against the Machine, Marilyn Manson and Prodigy amongst other and fits the Matrix theme being very industrial and hard. The songs that fit different parts of the film like the Kung-Fu training are well chosen and together make a memourable soundtrack. The last song on the album by Rage against the Machine ...

Most people have seen the film "The Matrix", and if you have you should remember how good the film really was, from the visual effects to the stunts used, and not forgetting the excellent soundtrack that accompanied it!
Can you remember it now? You Can, well I dont need to tell you much apart from the album just tops it off, and any fan of "The Matrix" will have to get this album.
With such tracks as "Rock is Dead" by Marilyn Manson, and "Mindfields" ... ...the music really is, and it is a great album to listen to at a very loud volume in order to clear your head!
I have had the soundtrack for about 18 months, and I still listen to it as much now as when I brought it, so I have definatly had my moneys worth, and if you look in the right places now, you can get it for as little as £5!!! So go get it, you know you want to! ...

I brought this CD the day after seeing the film for the first time. I noticed that the collection of hard rock and metal sounds throughout the film added a lot to the feel of the film so I thought I'd give this CD a spin. Be warned, it is definately not for everyone.
